Certain parts of our datasets are still collected only at facility
levelbthough. The only advice I can give is if you.are collecting data at
different levels ensure that they are in different datasets so that
you.carefully manage the capturing orgunit.

I have thought of a couple of ways to do so:

Create an Organisational Unit level (POS) underneath facility level

up to only be accessible to Org Units at this POS level
Create a data set for Testing and Counseling data and add a Point of
Service Category to it. Data will be added at the Facility level: data set,
reporting period AND Point of Service Type would be selected prior to
adding data on the data entry screen.

I imagine this is not an issue unique to us and am curious what

Hi Ese,

Yes, the aggregate part is more flexible and stable - which has evolved
through time. We will also reach to that stage with the tracker.

I have now implemented longText/textarea input for 2.20 (check for
rev. 19957).

Will try to do the same for 2.19. Trunk has already this.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Setting up Point of Service sites

2015-10-13 Thread Laura E. Lincks
A point of service in our world is sort of like a specialty treatment
center within a facility, a hospital, etc. pertaining to HIV Testing and
Counseling. It could be as specific as "In-patient for Adult Males" or a
general "Outpatient" or it could be "Family Planning" or "VCT". I'm dealing
with 2 issues at the moment: addressing the immediate need of a specific
country for reporting this week and devising a consistent way to set up all
countries' POSs.

For the specific country issue we are setting them up as another
organisation unit level. We can change that later if need be, but we needed
a solution now. This country has very few POS types (2 or 3) and very few
sites with POS (14-15). We have been having some confusion with categories
for this country and are in the midst of cleaning some of that up so I
didn't want to add more categories.

I agree that if POSs are not consistent across all Org Units a data set
categoriy could cause potential confusion or data entry errors.

Creating POSs as Org Unit levels below facility level is how we do it in
our Universal system. Some of our countries use other sub-facility Org Unit
levels for other purposes in their DHIS instances and deal with POS in
other ways. Data set category is one way but they also have a form where
they just extract the data and assign it to the proper POS in other systems
if need be -- not very efficient. I'm trying to determine how best to apply
a consistent structure for a Universal configuration. For now we have mixed
solutions in place.

Does DHIS have a limit in regard to the number of Org Unit levels can be
set up?

Hi Laura,

lots of variation?

If the point of services are few and consistent across most facilities I
would use data set categories.

If they differ a lot (most likely) I would use org units.

The server offered only a single method diffie-hellman-group1-sha1. OpenSSH
supports this method, but does not enable it by default because is weak and

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] New aggregation operators

2015-10-13 Thread Jason Pickering
Hi Seid,
This request has come up a few times, in slightly different forms.
Currently, there is no such operator, although it would be useful. How we
have handled it in other implementations is through the use of a custom
script which would populate an additional data element (for instance *Number
of adults and children who are currently on ART - **First Line Regimen
(Last observed) ) *and populate this with the last observed data for a
given time period. The script could be automated to run regularly, so that
the data was always up to date with the last observed value So, if you are
looking at yearly data, you would look back over the last year, and
determine which value had been observed "last", and use this to populate
your new data element (which would have a period type of year).

You would probably need to use a combination of SQL queries combined with
some scripting language (Python, NodeJS, R, etc) to pull the required data
and then submit it back through the API.

Regards,
Jason

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Difference between attribute and disaggregate option for category combos

2015-10-13 Thread Lars Helge Øverland
Hi Elmarie,

the data dimension type on category and category combo indicates whether
you want to use these as disaggregation categories (linked to data
elements) or attribute categories (linked to data sets). So attributes
refers to data set categories.

If you would like to create a data set category (e.g. one category option
for "preliminary" and one for "validated"), then you need to set these to
"attribute". So:

Category combo: "Output type" - data dimension set to "attribute".
Category: "Output type" - data dimension set to "attribute".
Category options: "Preliminary output" and "Validated output".

You can now assign the "Output type" category combo to your data set, and
the data entry screen will allow you to choose between preliminary and
validated before entering data.

regards,

Lars

[Dhis2-users] Difference between attribute and disaggregate option for category combos

2015-10-13 Thread Elmarie Claasen
Hi all,

I need to set up a dhis2 instance in which we want to capture the data for
specific month twice e.g. preliminary output and validated output. We don't
need those to be added together as usual in a data element category
combination.

I have been looking into dataset category combinations but that looks a lot
similar in the manual to attributes. Would like clarity on the difference
between using disaggregate or attribute when selecting data dimension on a
catcombo.

Any suggestions on alternatives would be welcome J

Re: [Dhis2-users] Issue with data element of type "long text" in custom forms

2015-10-13 Thread Abyot Gizaw
Hi Ese,

Yes, the aggregate part is more flexible and stable - which has evolved
through time. We will also reach to that stage with the tracker.

I have now implemented longText/textarea input for 2.20 (check for
rev. 19957).

Will try to do the same for 2.19. Trunk has already this.

Thank you,
Abyot.
