Re: [Dhis2-users] Training register design question

2017-09-20 Thread Dipali Sahu
We generally have 2 Event forms for Training. One for capturing Trainee's
detail and for Training session's detail. We haven't done tracker for
Training because we never had to track or record how many times or what
training some person has undergone.
Trainee form has detail like, name, address, kind of training, function(
e.g. nurse, doctor etc.). so, here we can have reports by trainees.

We have been able to get all our reporting needs through these 2 forms.

Training session has detail like, what kind of training , where was it
held, average pre test and post test score etc. Here we get reports like
how many training were done in what location etc.

Off late, when there was no requirement to capture trainee detail, we just
had one Event type Training session form that captured elements like, total
number of people trained etc.

Hopefully this is helpful.
Thank you

[Dhis2-users] Any open source GIS/map database tools other than DHIS2

2017-06-21 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

I am wondering if there are any open source tools other than DHIS2 that
anyone has used for projecting data on maps.

My requirement is to create just a few maps, hence creating all the OU
hierarchy in DHIS2 is too big an exercise. I am looking for a tool that
already has administrative boundaries from UN OCHA or OSM etc. and where I
can just project my coordinates , change admin division colors and some
very basic stuff.

Thank you in advance, any leads will be helpful.

Hi

I am facing the same issue. I could enter age of a patient in Tracker form

on it , for example 'No. of events where Age is less than 1 year'.

Does it work yet?

[Dhis2-users] Unable to edit Dataset in 2.24

2016-12-21 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

I am unable to edit datasets in 2.24. I want to assign a Category
combination and change the 'Days after period to qualify for timely
submission' field. I am able to enter and update the fields and
successfully save. But on returning to the dataset the changes I made are
lost.

Any clues to whats happening??

Re: [Dhis2-users] Urgent :yes/no Data Element Saving issue in Tracker form sometime

2016-12-05 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Abyot

I also checked the issue on the demo site and fortunately I could reproduce
the error. Basically what happens is:

- enter data in program stage: *do not hit 'complete*': yes/no data element
values are not saved (I am able to enter yes or no value but the entered
value is not shown on returning to the program stage entry page later),
rest other values are saved and I can see them in the relevant fields upon
returning to the program stage data entry page

- enter data in program stage: *hit'complete'* : yes/no data element values
are saved. All other values are also saved.

>From what's happening I make out that user should always enter 'complete'
button after data entry in program stages in tracker forms. To edit data
they should always first 'Incomplete' and then edit and 'Complete' again.

Is this something known because I can't find any reference to this in the
user manuals.

Thank you in advance

Re: [Dhis2-users] Urgent :yes/no Data Element Saving issue in Tracker form sometime

2016-12-05 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Abyot

We have been testing this issue rigorously and I feel this has some
relation to the 'complete button' in program stage data entry.

Few data elements (mostly Yes/no and text type data elements) are not saved
until I hit 'Complete' or 'Complete and exit'. Other data element values on
the same stage are saved.

Does 'complete' button have some implication on data saving in tracker?

Hi,, yes its a really strange issue.

the custom css controls the font styling and other basic look of the
screens to match our organizations's standard.

[Dhis2-users] Urgent :yes/no Data Element Saving issue in Tracker form sometime

2016-11-21 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

I have an urgent issue here, any leads will be helpful.

I have a few tracker data elements of Yes/No type that don't save data
value sometimes in a Tracker program. The value is successfully entered
(check or cross in the box) but when I return to the form, it doesn't show
on the form AS WELL AS in REPORTS.

   - Its only sometimes that the value is not saved, because there are
already about 700 records where the data value is saved.
   - Could it be because we have a custom css and since the yes/no data
elements are changed from dropdown to radio buttons , it causes the problem
   sometimes.
   - It is only Yes/no elements that are not shown, rest of the element
values on the form are shown.
   - Data element configuration is correct.
   - Replacing the DE with a new one might not be the resolution because we
are not sure how many of such elements that do not save data sometime.
Also, the issue surfaced only after we had about 600 records already saved.
We guessed that there might be some change in the DB that causing the
issue. But even after the issue was reported, data still keeps saving most
of the time , and now we have a total of 700 records.

Thank you
Deepali

Re: [Dhis2-users] Fwd: complex category combo for Datasets doesn't show outputs

2016-10-26 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Jim

Thank you so much for the insight, I am going to test the scenarios you
have provided.

Another question I have is, when I have 2 donor fields/dimensions in data
entry, I understand that the category options i.e. the donor list should
have mutually exclusive names. for example Donor 1 has ECHO and UNHCR and
Donor 2 had WHO and UNICEF. what happens if i have common items in both the
list, for example Donor 1 list has ECHO, UNHCR, WHO, UNICEF and Donor 2 has
the same items as well i.e. ECHO, UNHCR, WHO, UNICEF.

When I enter data in such a scenario will DHIS2 show reports show valid
numbers.. because for example ECHO will be the same category option , will
DHSI2 be able to recognize whether ECHO is from donor 1 or from donor 2?

This looks like a really complicated use case to me.. but I am wondering
with native DHIS2 can handle this without any custom coding hence so many
questions :)

Thank you
Deepali

Hi DHIS2 Community

I am wondering if assigning complex category combinations to a DATASET will
work. I have a use case where the activities are supported by 2 donors and
hence data is accounted in 2 different projects. I created a dataset shown
as below. Although on in(or even any 2 categories like both the donors),
the report shows no values.

In a similar case, where I assign a complex category combo to a data
element, everything works fine.
Am I doing something wrong here?? Kindly help

[Dhis2-users] Count of registered events in Programs with category combinations should double of the actual value

2016-09-26 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi DHIS2 Community

When I use category combo for Programs as attributes, the number of
registered events shows as double of the actual number of events. See
below, registered events are 3, but it says 'Registered events (Total: 6)'.

Is this intentional? or is something wrong here? I feel the Registered
event should show as 3 and not 6.

[Dhis2-users] Should I edit category combo after data has been entered in old categories

2016-09-16 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

I have category combination of Men and Women for some data elements. There
is already data entered for these data elements.

Now, I want to edit the category combo to add Boys and Girls i.e. total of
4 categories Men Women, Boys and Girls.

If I edit the category combo , will it affect my database or analysis in
any way. I have read somewhere previously that it is not advisable to edit
category combos once data is entered. I don't need to convert old data in
any way, old data can stay in old categories, and moving forward i need to
capture data in above said 4 categories.

Please advise..

[Dhis2-users] Additional dimensions (Implementing partner and Project) don't appear for entry in Tracker capture.

2016-07-28 Thread Dipali Sahu
Good Evening DHIS2 Community

I want to enter Tracker data and need to specify the implementing partner
and project for this Tracker form just as this is done for Data Entry
forms. I am using the demo site on dhis2.org.

   - However, even when I assign a relevant category combination to the
program while creating the program, the needed dimensions DO NOT appear in
tracker capture while entering the data.
   - I can see required implementing partner dropdown in Event capture but
   not Tracker capture.
   - I can see the implementing partner dimension in Pivot tables but not
in Event report even though the Program I created is assigned a category
   combo.

Are these some unimplemented features or am I missing something?

[Dhis2-users] Option set translations don't show in Event Reports/Event Visualizer/ Program name translation is not shown in Event & Tracker capture

2016-07-19 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

There seem to be 2 more issues with the translations:

   1. Option set's Options translations do not show up in Event reports and
Event visualizer. Also, Event Report/visualizer module in general are not
   translated like Pivot table.
   2. Program name translation doesn't show on Event capture and Tracker
capture screens i.e. while entering data for event or tracker, under
program name selection field, the translated name of program is not shown.

Is it possible to see the translated name for the above 2 in future or soon
with 2.24?

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] dhis version 2.24 is released

2016-07-05 Thread Dipali Sahu
Thanks Mark..

One more question related to this..will the translated items show up (per
locale and translation) in event and tracker forms. In 2.21 although we
were able to translate the dropdown answers, the forms didn't show up the
translated names for the dropdown answers and hence we had to create for
example 2 option sets with exactly same answers , one with options in
English and other with options in French.

In one of the previous emails we got to know that translations not showing
in Programs is an unimplemented feature and we are hoping (and counting on
it for our implementations) that it is available in 2.24 :)

Thanks in advance

Hi DHIS2 Users

I am trying to limit user's access to certain Data element and Indicator
groups in Pivot tables through restricting shared items and it doesn't seem
to be working.Hence, users are able to see even the DE groups whihc are not
meant for them.
I am using DHIS2 2.21.
Is this a known thing?

[Dhis2-users] New use case : is there a possibility to have something like categories under program indicators in future

2016-06-15 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi

I am wondering if it could be possible to in future to have something like
category combinations applied to program indicators.

The need here is to simplify reports in pivot tables. We have patient data
collection form and the indicators are aggregated numbers by age, gender ,
by morbidity, by type of visit etc. We have around 200 indicators to count
everything we need to. We successfully get the numbers but the reports can
be better if we can view them by categories rather than a long list of 200
indicators.

Hi, here is screenshot, So I have translated the name of the Program that I
am using to enter data in French. I have both UI and DB languages turned to
French. While entering data under Event Capture, the name of the program
and all options (under option sets)shows in English and not french.
Whereas, under Programs app, the name of the program can be seen in French.
Is there something I am missing. I am using DHIS 2.21

[Dhis2-users] Unable to see French translation for 'Program' and 'Options' under Event Capture

Hi

I translated the Program and Options (for option sets) in French and I can
see the translation saved.
However, when I go to Event Capture, and try to enter data, the Program
name shows in English and not French. Similar issue for Option sets.

How do I get the translated program names and options on the UI.

Thank you

Re: [Dhis2-users] Any experience of DHIS2 in Agriculture?

2016-02-08 Thread Dipali Sahu
Two questions:

1. If one is to take a simplified view and prefer to implement the thing
through meta-data definition, how would you advise the community? I would
say it will be challenging, because typically Results framework can have
multiple levels and typically are flexible in design unless the user is
deciding on a fixed format.. We actually faced issues with this, some of
them given below:

   - Project was created as "Org unit group" >> this led to projects list
show up in pivot table and other places within org unit.
   - Outcomes and objectives which are levels of the results framework and
have group of indicators under them were made as Data indicator groups.
Again these started showing up in pivot tables etc.
   - Major issue was, one indicator can be mapped to multiple projects. For
example, Number of consultations provided is an indicator under all
projects. Therefore, one indicator has multiple targets, baselines, source
of verification etc (for different projects).Creating new indicator for
each new project was a complete no-no for us.
   - Handling targets was difficult because, target for a certain indicator
and certain project is valid for the project lifetime. Now, projects can
have any start and end dates, therefore, target datasets had to me made
   monthly.
   - generating a valid logframe report, when different indicators belonged
to different org unit. We had logframe where different levels belonged to
different org units. for example, Objective A is for Org unit A, and
Objectve B is for org unit 2.Here, the user had no options other than
choosing the right org unit from a selection window, again and again for
   different indicators.

2. If the app you are is in some sort of working state, is is something
that you could share to the community? I am not sure at this moment, but
ours is very specific to our needs and is not generic.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Any experience of DHIS2 in Agriculture?

2016-02-08 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Alex

We did consider using the Tracker. I am sure there must be a way, 2
important challenges we faced were:

   - We can set up a project as a program in Tracker. But, how do we get
the levels in the results framework, for example a project logframe has
Goal, Each goal can have multiple objectives under it, and each Objective
can have multiple outcomes, Outcome can have multiple outputs and Output
can have multiple indicators. Logframe structure is flexible and different
   for different donor/project.
   - Calculating achievement, where achievement= indicator value/Target
*100. We made targets as datasets. There fore, if we use tracker, the
numerator can come from Program indicator but denominator is in Aggregated
   part (in datasets).

2016-02-08 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Abyot

I had worked with DHIS2 in the Agriculture sector. I would say more or less
, with customization we could fulfill the requirements.

At present, I with my team are *particularly working on Results Framework
which has logical framework* having goals, outcome, outputs , indicators
etc. We tried to build the module within DHIS in phase 1 and we were
successsfulyl able to monitor project's results framework. But over time,
the requirements came out to be really complicated and elaborate because
results framework doesn't just have a list of indicators but the logical
relationship between various level of the logframe helping in overall
project monitoring.

Therefore, now we are building the module outside DHIS where we are
developing a project logframe structure page (we are calling this as
Project Management app) which can call indicator values from DHIS. Each
indicator has a few attributes like type; baseline value, source of
verification etc. Similarly project has attributes like start & end dates,
donor, area of operation, total budget, sub-grants etc. We are calling this
module as Project management module.

I hope, this info is of some use

Thank you

[Dhis2-users] How do we aggregate Event data older than 12 months

2015-12-16 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi DHIS2 users

I am trying to find out how do we aggregate the Event data older than 12
months.

We have data Event data from previous years that needs to be aggregated to
analyse trends etc. But, as in 2.21 Aggregation under Program>>Automated
Aggregation allows aggregation of only last 12 months of data.
What are the possible ways to aggregate the Event data older than 12 months?

Thank you in advance

Re: [Dhis2-users] Aggregation query builder details

2015-11-26 Thread Dipali Sahu
Hi Knut

We actually use Aggregation query builder to a large extent to get
aggregated data. Exclusively, all our data is captured through Event
capture, and we aggregate it through Aggregation query builder, so that the
aggregated values can be shown in datasets as well as Pivot tables.
Also, using Pivot tables with data elements is easier for the end users
since they there is flexibility to can slice and dice the data with
categories under Pivot tables.
