[Dhis2-users] Betr: Import of coordinates fails in v2.27(DHIS2)

2017-08-17 Thread Gijsbert OOMS
Hi Kristiyan,

Would it be possible that you have one extra column somewhere (maybe a
double comma) ?

The way I understood csv-imports, DHIS2 doesn't read the column names in
your csv but just counts the colums (see list of colums here , Table
1.17). Coordinates should be in column nr 12, url should be in nr 13. From
the log, it seems that DHIS2 thinks that you try to import a url. This
probably means that your coordinates are in column nr 13 or "M", while
they should be in column nr 12 or "N".

Dear all,

My case is regarding the following: DHIS->Import->CSV->Organizational
Units->Coordinates. I am not sure whether this is a bug or not well
described in the documentation but import of coordinates does not work
properly DHIS2 v.2.27.

I have tried numerous combinations of arranging the latitude and longitude
in my .CSV file and none of that worked when import in DHIS2. My feature
type is “POINT”. This is the "Conflict" I get:

~
Main Type Error Type Description
OrganisationUnit StringProperty `url` requires a valid
URL, was given `[36.035858,31.871833]`.
~
Combinations were made with: dots, commas, space, most type of brackets,
rotating latitude and longitude, etc.

When I entered coordinates manually in DHIS2 for a single OrgUnit and I
could successfully view that POINT on a map. This is what I get from a XML
export of Organization Units regarding manually input of coordinates:

POINT
[36.035858,31.871833]

Your help will be very appreciated as I need to enter approximately 2000
Point coordinates for Organizational Units.

Kind Regards,
Kristiyan Panayotov

[Dhis2-users] Betr: Re: [Dhis2-devs] release cycle: from 4 to 3 releases per year

2017-02-06 Thread Gijsbert OOMS
Yes! For the implementations I've been following at country levels, a
slower release pace or at least the possibility to only upgrade once a
year would be welcome. Not every implementation has the capacity to be
agile, so there is a need for very stable releases. Even though upgrades
usually have little impact on the user-side, each upgrade needs to be
followed by a training - at least for administrators. Sometimes that's a
big investment for little functionality.

Lars, has there been any recent discussion over adopting an ubuntu-style
approach of two types of release?

I think a lot of people running large national setups with 1000's of users
would be happy to see a long-term-service release maybe once a year with
at least guaranteed security related backports for maybe two years. Then
maybe two more bleeding edge releases in the year for those who really
need the latest functionality and have the agility to upgrade frequently.

The numbers above can be different, but I think the idea of two types of
release might have some merit. I wonder what would be the main arguments
for and against. We want to continue to release-often-release-early to
maintain momentum. But also provide some stability. These aims tend to
work against each other :-) Anyway I'd be interested to hear what people
think.

Hi all,

we would like to let you know that the release cycle for DHIS 2 will be be
shifting from 4 to 3 yearly releases. The upcoming releases look like
this:

2.27: June 1, 2017
2.28: October 1, 2017
2.29: February 1, 2018

A few observations led to this change:

- The machinery around DHIS 2 of documentation, academy materials, release
notes, web pages and so on is getting larger and the overhead of updating
it for each release is becoming significant.

- Implementing organizations seem to be lagging a few releases behind the
latest on average in terms of testing and roll-out. This leads to a large
demand for back-porting of fixes and even features, consuming a lot of
developer time.

So by reducing the number of releases by one we hope to reduce the
overhead and free more time for new development. We promise to remain
agile and user-driven in spite of this change.

best regards,

Lars

Any update on this? When trying to import a csv and using "code" ID scheme
for organisation unit, nothing gets imported ("Organisation unit not found
or not accessible ")

This worked fine up to version 2.21. I just tested with the same csv-file
every later version up to 2.25 and it seems broken in all of them.

Re: [Dhis2-users] API: Mass-deleting data values

2016-03-29 Thread Gijsbert Ooms
Just a little update on this (we were having the same issue).

It is true that overwriting with ‘0’ works only if zeroIsSignificant is set to
true. What we found to be most working, was to overwrite with nothing (just “”
in the csv). This works regardless of the zeroIsSignificant-attribute. In your
csv’s you can just remove all zeroes in the “value”-column – that is, if you
don’t care for zeroes, obviously.

I followed the approch of overwriting all obsolete values with '0', which is
just as fast as any other update. This works of course only, if I set
zeroIsSigificant to true before overwriting and back to false before
eliminating '0' values - in theory. In praxi, I am able to start the
elimination process in the maintenance app and get a success message, but the
'0' value-records still remain in the dataValues table.

Is there an issue with setting the zeroIsSigificant flag after data were
entered for that dataElement?

By the way: from my experince, bulk deletion by accident is way less dangerous
than randomly changing single values as you can see immediately that something
went wrong :-D (and are able to restore the backup). If you have processes
changing only single values accidentially, you might find this out only after
months - and that's much harder to correct. It might be worthwhile to rethink
this security feature.

Uwe

What do you think of the option of just updating all the obsolete values to 0
and have them eliminated by DHIS2 (I assume that 0-Values are being eliminated
unless I block this in the settings)?

It is a valid approach to generate a data value set filled with blank values
and import it. This will effectively remove the data values.

Looks like you are opening up a topic that has been discussed severally

I'm probably just missing something here, but when generating reporting rate

the expected number should not include OU's created in March 2015. Or is

Tried with the 2.18 (18365, 2015-04-16 02:03), problem is still there.

I think it’s something with the roles: when adding the “ALL”-authority to the
user’s role, it works, but when adding all the authorities but the
“ALL”-authority, it shows “approval not relevant”.

Dear all,

When I try to approve any dataset for any org unit level, but the message
Approval not relevant always show. I added level of org unit in the Approval
setting in Setting module, but this doesn't change. But in version 2.15 it
works fine.

Please tell me whether I miss some setting in the new version 2.17.

Thank you very much.

Thuy

[Dhis2-users] Indicator not annualising

2015-02-16 Thread Gijsbert Ooms
Hi there!

I can’t find a way to create an indicator in DHIS2 based on yearly
populations.

Desired indicator: coverage of consultations in catchment area per month

Nominator: number of consultations (data element in monthly dataset)

Denominator: total population catchment area (data element in yearly
dataset)

Population catchment area is a data element “sum”, aggregation level is set
to the level at which the data is collected.

I’ve set the indicator to “annualised”, since my population is yearly.

When I visualize the indicator, the data is shown yearly and not monthly, as
I would have wanted it to show.

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Cordialement,

Hi Gijsbert,

You need to set the data element which is collected annually (usually
population) Average (sum in org unit hierarchy) . This will give you annualised
monthly data for your indicator.

John

[Dhis2-users] Data elements not available for insertion on custom forms

2014-12-04 Thread Gijsbert Ooms
Hi!

I'm having a problem with data elements not appearing in custom data entry
forms.

When editing the custom form, the list of data elements is just empty for
every data set. Totals and indicators show up fine; data elements are added
to the data set. Problem appeared after migration from 2.16 to 2.17.

Cache emptying etc doesn't resolve this issue. Haven't been able to recreate
at the demo 2.17.

Any thoughts?

Cordialement,
