MEDIA LITERACY TRAINER

 

The New Mexico Media Literacy Project (www.nmmlp.org
<http://www.nmmlp.org/> ), an outreach project of Albuquerque Academy,
seeks a high energy media literacy trainer to facilitate workshops and
seminars, and to give presentations in a variety of settings including
classrooms, conferences, and community events.  Our primary client
groups include schools, healthcare providers, and non-profit
organizations. We are looking for candidates who present themselves
professionally, are comfortable speaking to diverse groups of people,
are comfortable with technology, and are willing to learn new skills,
techniques, and formats for presentations.  We are looking for dynamic
individuals who can think on their feet and add creativity to varied
learning environments.



QUALIFIED CANDIDATES will demonstrate the following:

 

Successful experience in the delivery of seminars and/or training
programs

Professional presentation and interpersonal style, with experience
facilitating interactive training
Exceptional relationship building skills

Ability to work with different audiences ranging in age and skill from
children to adults, novices to experts
Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
Well-organized and detail-oriented
Team player, fast learner, flexible, at ease multi-tasking
Willing to travel extensively

 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS that NMMLP is looking for:

 

Strong background in media literacy/education or media policy

Ability to work with multi-media technologies

Bilingual

Comfortable in entrepreneurial environment

Grant writing and grant management experience

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:


Conducting presentations, workshops and seminars
Creatively delivering training messages to maximize retention
Identifying and training based on clients' learning needs
Developing and leveraging client relationships to increase training
opportunities and product sales
Developing training materials for audiences including presentations,
handouts, FAQ sheets, online training modules and internal training
tools
Maintaining a visible presence for NMMLP by building relationships,
increasing awareness and market share, and sharing feedback on client
and field trends and activities
Writing and editing reports and articles
Monitoring, evaluating and recording training activities and program
effectiveness

30% to 60% travel (state and national), varying by month
