With the current set of sources and DMD 2.052 I get no crash anymore but 
instead the linker hangs (without taking CPU time).


I prepared another zip with the corresponding object files and the 
command line used:

Yes.


 How is that going?


Very slowly. Essentially what I do is translate the sections where bugs are 
suspected, then fix them in the C version.
