[digitalradio] HRD and DM780 with Cyrillic alphabet
Hello, Simon. There are many posts from Russian-speaking HAMs about incompatibility of HRD and DM780 with Cyrillic alphabet. The DM780 shows unreadable symbols in the receiving window in case it was transmitted in Cyrillic, and it's not possible to type Cyrillic in the transmitting window. Would be nice to resolve this problem and expand use of this good program into Russian-speaking world. Best regards 73 Vlad UA6JD

[digitalradio] from ARLP042 Propagation de K7RA
In April and May bulletins ARLP017 and ARLP018 mentioned WSPRnet, the Weak Signal Propagation Reporter Network, which looks to be a promising tool for looking at HF propagation. The October 2009 issue of CQ Magazine has an interesting interview with Nobel Laureate Dr. Joe Taylor, K1JT, the developer of WSPRnet and other weak signal signaling methods. You can read it online at http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com/Joe_Taylor_webOct09.pdf. Also, Steve Nichols, G0KYA gave a talk on WSPR at the recent Radio Society of Great Britain convention. Re: [digitalradio] The most used software?
Andy- More interesting question - what is the best soft for DIGI mode (I mean RTTY and psk - which was 99.5% of all digital activity now)? For the RTTY I think better decode MMVARI - and for psk (31.63.125) was WW (DXLab) - which together with Spot Collector(using local spots) work fantastic ! Really much popular was MixW (but not the best) You wrote : I am wondering, based on you QSOs, what is the most sued multi mode software these days ? I know in the old days, Software is Digipan was the most common thing we would see , then later Zakanaka or MixW. What about nowadays, is it DM780, still MixW, FLdigi ? I know there have been polls and surveys in the past, I am just looking for your on-air observations of what OTHERS are using. Re[2]: [digitalradio] Best Software
And these 70% of signals you can decode by Winwarbler (DXLab) - using local spots and filters in SpotCollector with audio announce - you need just drink a coffee reading newspapers, and waiting when computer tell by Joe's voice which DX on the band... And no need any brain and experience - just computer connecting to radio via soundcard - paradise... -- Best regards 73 Vlad UA6JD gadgets to your www.qrz.com examples http://www.qrz.com/db/ua6jd just double-click and install You wrote : First, I would estimate that 70 per cent of all HF are PSK31 signals. 15 per cent are RTTY and 5 percent Pactor. Multipsk Fldigi DM780 RSID will automatically identify almost all of the remaining 10 percent (plus RTTY and PSK) IF the station uses RSID. RSID does not detect JT modes or WSPR.
