[digitalradio] Re: Double Entries on Waterfall
I haven't seen the same station on more than one frequency, but I have seen the callsign listed twice on the SAME line in the DM780 SuperBrowser. To illustrate: Normal display: W2ABC X psk31 text line .. Double display; W2ABC W2ABC XX psk 31 text line .. I have observed this with both versions 4 and 5. 73 de Dave, NF2G
[digitalradio] Re: Digital modes and old husband's tales
I run my FT-857D and RigBlaster Plus according to the interface manufacturer's advice about settings. For HF digital modes, I set the rig to 5 watts, the ALC to zero, and then adjust soundcard levels until the ALC just begins to move. I have PSK31 and WSPR contacts into Europe from the eastern USA. For SSTV, I turn the rig up to 90 watts and set soundcard levels just below where my outgoing signal starts to look hairy on the waterfall display. I have had SSTV QSOs into the Caribbean and Central America this way. 73 de Dave, NF2G
[digitalradio] Re: Use the *$%#ing RS ID!
OK, thanks for the clarification. In sum, this is the basic information we all appear to need: 1) What is RS ID? We are each responsible for everything that is transmitted by our stations, so we should understand what this is. 2) On what modes is RS ID required/recommended/preferred? 3) Which software supports RS ID? 4) How do we enable RS ID in each capable software package? 73 de Dave, NF2G
[digitalradio] Re: Use the *$%#ing RS ID!
When ID info is sent at the beginning or end of an SSTV transmission (in FSK), is this an example of RS ID? 73 de Dave, NF2G
