[Discuss] Testing list
The list has been quiet the past couple of days. Not sure if the list is working since I restored it from the original Pegasus database files. -- Jerry Feldman g...@blu.org Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[Discuss] BLU Job Posting Policy
The BLU job posting policy: http://blu.wikispaces.com/job+posting+policy lists these requirements: All positions offered must be for jobs that require proficiency in Linux or UNIX and which can be performed by employees located in the Boston area. Please include at least the following: 1. Required skill-set. 2. Contract or permanent position? 3. Pay range and incentives. 4. Placement through a recruiter, or directly with the company? If you are a recruiter or search firm, you must say so. 5. Location: include the City or Town where the applicant will be working, and if there is access to public transportation, please mention it. 6. Whether telecommuting is available, and if it is, what percentage of the work week may be fulfilled offsite. 7. Company's product or service. Are there any changes we want to make to this list? Should approval of the posting be on an all-or-nothing basis, or should this list be ordered from must-have to nice-to-have? I've rejected a several postings for lacking #3. Most don't address #2, #4, #5, or #6 explicitly, though it is often fairly easy to infer the answers. Ideally, I'd like to have these postings supplied through a form, so they are prompted to supply all the required elements. (Anyone with some time on their hands want to build such a form? I looked at a few outsourced services to see if there was something quick and cheap, but none were capable of sending a custom formatted email in response to each form submission.) -Tom -- Tom Metro Venture Logic, Newton, MA, USA Enterprise solutions through open source.
