Re: [tdf-discuss] Still can't get 64-bit deb to work
I used to use alien in the past and it never really used to work well in regards to the packages once converted. Have you tested with lucid which is rock solid as well as maverick? One problem NN 64-bit seems to have is handling python bindings, which is being worked on now. So LO may just start to work spontaneously. But anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I can try in the meantime, let me know. I actually didn't solve the problem. The program runs, but only when I am root. -Original Message- >From: Susan Cragin >Sent: Dec 11, 2010 6:27 PM >To: discuss@documentfoundation.org >Subject: Re: [tdf-discuss] Still can't get 64-bit deb to work > >I have solved the problem. >Installing the 64-bit deb sets permissions way too high. >I did some chmod and now it works fine. > >For some reasons the 32-bit did not have this problem. > -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to discuss+h...@documentfoundation.org Archive: http://www.documentfoundation.org/lists/discuss/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity ***
Re: [tdf-discuss] Still can't get 64-bit deb to work
I have solved the problem.

Start LibO from terminal and copy every error messages, otherwise is quite difficult to guess what's happens ;) 2010/12/11 Susan Cragin : > I also tried converting the RPMs through alien. > > All I get is the splash screen, and then the loading bar colors to about > halfway, and then ... nothing. > > Part of the problem may be that I'm on Natty Narwhal Alpha, and I know there > are bugs (32-bit LO runs flawlessly on a NN 32-bit partition). > > One problem NN 64-bit seems to have is handling python bindings, which is > being worked on now. > > So LO may just start to work spontaneously. > > But anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I can try in the meantime, let me > know. > > Thanks, > Susan Cragin > > > > -- > Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to discuss+h...@documentfoundation.org > Archive: http://www.documentfoundation.org/lists/discuss/ > *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity *** > -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to discuss+h...@documentfoundation.org Archive: http://www.documentfoundation.org/lists/discuss/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity ***
[tdf-discuss] Still can't get 64-bit deb to work
I also tried converting the RPMs through alien. All I get is the splash screen, and then the loading bar colors to about halfway, and then ... nothing.
