Re: [tdf-discuss] Still can't get 64-bit deb to work

2010-12-13 Thread Jonathan Aquilina
I used to use alien in the past and it never really used to work well in
regards to the packages once converted.

Have you tested with lucid which is rock solid as well as maverick?

All I get is the splash screen, and then the loading bar colors to about

Part of the problem may be that I'm on Natty Narwhal Alpha, and I know there
are bugs (32-bit LO runs flawlessly on a NN 32-bit partition).

One problem NN 64-bit seems to have is handling python bindings, which is being
worked on now.

So LO may just start to work spontaneously.

But anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I can try in the meantime, let me
know.

I actually didn't solve the problem.
The program runs, but only when I am root.

I have solved the problem.
Installing the 64-bit deb sets permissions way too high.
I did some chmod and now it works fine.

For some reasons the 32-bit did not have this problem.
