I suggest Konigi (http://www.konigi.com) as well, it's a great mix of gallery-type inspiration, analysis and new tools and resources. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hi all, David is making a good point. There is a difference between individual blogs and more magazine like sites with more than one contributor. I have collected the sites that have been mentioned in this thread. This is of course only a small set, what are the others missing? Johnny Holland Magazine http://johnnyholland.org/ http://johnnyholland.org/Design Observer http://designobserver.com/ Konigi http://konigi.com/ A List Apart (http://alistapart.com) The UX Bookmark http://www.theuxbookmark.com/ Cone Tree http://www.conetrees.com/ Smashing Magazine http://www.smashingmagazine.com/ Boxez Arrows http://www.boxesandarrows.com/ UXmatters http://www.uxmatters.com/ Erik Erik Stolterman, Professor in Informatics, Director of the Human Computer Interaction Group, School of Informatics and Computing, Indiana University, Bloomington, Email: estol...@indiana.edu, Web: http://hcid.informatics.indiana.edu/eriksite/ On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 7:15 PM, dave malouf dave@gmail.com wrote: Vishal, I love michael's blog, but it is a singular voice, unlike Core77 or JohnnyHolland. the honest answer is that there is no single voice of our community and the real sentiment should be Yeah! we are diverse and free. I think that in the new world of IxDA once the new web site comes out you may see a shift in what the list is and isn't. But Robert, what are you looking for when you ask for that gorilla? Last point. Core77 is privately run and operated as a for-profit (not a bad thing) and IxDA is NFP. Just sayin' -- dave . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Re: [IxDA Discuss] Core77 equivalent for interaction design?
I would agree with Vicky. A List Apart (http://alistapart.com) is a child of Jeffery Zeldman. I'm sure you've heard of him :) Smashing Magazine is one of my staples, when it comes to design and interactivity trends. They not only show trends, but give the reasoning and the research behind why it is trending. I'm also a big fan of Creattica (http://creattica.com/). Inspiration, trends, and beautiful inspiration. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Re: [IxDA Discuss] Core77 equivalent for interaction design?
Are there blogs or sites that round up studies and cold hard facts and numbers, rather than pretty inspirational stuff? Of the sites mentioned above, I think uxmatters is the closest to what I'm looking for. Thanks, Sheri . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . More on the web design side is A List Apart http://www.alistapart.com/ and Smashing Magazine http://smashingmagazine.com I actually think it's a fair question to ask - I only discovered a lot of the blogs in the last year, if you don't know where to look it can be a bit hard!
