Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] FOSS4GNA - Presentations on OSGeo?
Frank, I'm not heavily involved, but I'm on a few of the lists. I'm also local to the area, so if you need any sort of local support. I've set up loops of the OSGeoLive DVD slide show, that Cameron has usually puts together, in a couple of instances for local conferences. Folks, Is anyone proposing to do a presentation about OSGeo? I'd like to do one talking fairly broadly about the organization and then focusing in on recent organizational developments. But I don't really want to do it on my own. Ideally I'd like one or two other folks heavily involved in OSGeo to co-present. Anyone already submitting to this effect? Care to partner? PS. Of course I'm only thinking about this now because I thought I was down to my last 30 minutes before the deadline, but I see they have extended it by roughly a week, so there is a bit of time to work out a plan. I'm hoping that someone will provide an Overview of the OSGeo stack of software. Frank, there might be some overlap with your presentation, or probably would be a different presentation which dove tales with yours. The presenter(s) might want to draw upon material from the OSGeo-Live presentation: http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_Presentation On 16/02/13 18:33, Frank Warmerdam wrote: Folks, Is anyone proposing to do a presentation about OSGeo? Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] FOSS4GNA - Presentations on OSGeo?
Frank, I can prepare a slide or two (or more) about the OSGeo RELabs and edu in general. The first couple slides from the talk below (delivered at OGRS2012) and maybe some of the conclusions would be probably relevant, but update is needed as we went from 6 to 19 labs over the past couple months http://skagit.meas.ncsu.edu/~helena/publwork/OGRSFoss4g_2012_EduFin.pptx Suchith has some good slides about OSGeo REL as well, especially about the link with ICA.
