 Dear OSGeo,
as per Board motion [1] we have now accepted all 37 nominees into
Charter Membership [2]. Hooray! Please welcome our new Charter Members.

Thank you for the great nominations and thanks to all for making OSGeo a
 sustainable Foundation.

We now have people from 38 nationalities! Even the largest group now
represents no more than a quarter of all Charter Members (the United
States with 23%). This is really good global representation.

FOSS4G is approaching [3] fast and in case you still did not book or
decide to come, it is hight time. Even for procrastination experts.

 Best regards,
 Your Chief Returning Officers

Welcome to new charter members. OSGeo will sure benefit from each one of you
and your work there on.
Though officially you only decide (Vote) the board, you can steer the path
OSGeo will take through active discussion.
Please join the OSGeo advocates and list all you have done and wish to do
through User Talk.

Perception about where OSGeo should put it's force changes from region to
region. It is no secret that The OSGeo is dominated by the mind set of the
developed world, in itself there is nothing wrong. So please discuss what you
think are your region's needs.

Welcome to all new Charter Members!!

probably be well into the 40s.)

I think, Arnulf's count was on nationalities. For example, my good
friend, Daniel Kastl
is shown to be from Germany but lives and breaths in Japan.

2013-08-02 Thread Margherita Di Leo
Hi All,

Congrats and welcome to the new charter members!!
Thank you Arnulf for taking care of the CRO's duties. Let me just express
my satisfaction regarding the approval of the motion to accept them all
instead of only 30. It has demonstrated the policy of the current board to
be inclusive rather than exclusive, I appreciate it.

Regards,
Madi
