One thing I do not understand about clock radios like the SoundBridge is why they feel the need to put stereo speakers in them. For the common placement of a clock radio stereo speakers is not needed and you are actually better off with a good single speaker and decent mono amp. When your stereo speakers are only 8 inches apart and you are listening to to them pretty much directly off the side stereo separation is not really possible. -- m1abrams m1abrams's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=850 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40983 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Artwork issues with Nokia 770 skin
Like many here I've been using the Nokia 770 and Ben's great skin for control of my SB3. I have just finally completed the accumulation of all my album artwork (~1000 albums). They are all JPG files stored as cover.jpg in each album directory, with sizes ranging from 240x240 to 500x500. I can see the covers fine when I select an album, but when I use either the Artwork or 1x1 selections on the Nokia skin I just get grey thumbnails with question marks in them. I did read that it may take some time for the Artwork page to fill (it currently shows 50 covers at a time), but the 1x1 page is only showing two covers at one time (the artwork should appear pretty much instantly, no?). Do I have some kind of problem, or does it just take too long for the cover art to load into the skin? -- tonyptony tonyptony's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3397 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41051 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I hope everybody enjoyed/is enjoying the open house. Hey, Mike, this time how about identifying the Slim/Logi staff, especially the forum participants, in any posted photos? Lottery... not free gear, but a drawing for the chance to buy at the open house price. Have the lottery drawing several days before the open house, and any unsold lottery merch goes to the open house sale. This might not only make faraway fans happier, but encourage some online hype interest in the product line (think of the Digg possibilities). I'd suggest only using the lottery for a portion of the refurb gear and a limited number of new units, to guarantee to locals that there would be some bargains at the open house. The lottery should be announced only about a week before the entry deadline drawing, to reduce any adverse affect on sales of new units. It's mounted at /media/sdc5/Music. slimserver says ops - /media/sdc5/Music doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again. I can browse to that location and also play music using the default ubuntu media player. So what's the deal? Please help! Thanks! Re: [slim] Slimserver - can't access music on NTFS
Take a look at this wiki page http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?MusicOnLinuxUSBHardDrives A /media mount point sounds like an external drive, but in any case, you should look into the availability and permissions issues covered on the wiki. -Peter -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41067 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Library Pointer Question
dminches;249130 Wrote: I have the majority of my music on my NAS, designated as drive T:. I also have other music on a local drive, F:. I put a shortcut for F: in the root folder of T: but for some reason that drive never seems to get scanned. All the folder on T: show up in my library, but never the music on F:. Shouldn't this work? Using Windows shortcuts with SlimServer can be tricky. You might find it easier to manage if you first create an empty folder on the machine running SlimServer and designate it as your music folder. Within this folder create one shortcut to each of the music file locations, both on the network and on the local machine. Make sure that any shortcuts create are from the perspective of the server machine itself. Generally, it's easiest if you create the shortcut while logged in at the SlimServer machine. If you ever want to run SlimServer as a Windows service, you'll be much better off using UNC style paths to any network shares on the NAS. So instead of using 'T:', the shortcut would look something like: \\NASname\ShareName\MusicFolder or possibly just \\NASname\ShareName To do this in Windows, right-click the shortcut after you've created it and change the target. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41066 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
