Yes..the router will be different..& I use this network at home only &
don't access it from other places..So, I hope I will only have to
search for the new network to get connected..

thx for the response. back when this first happened, (some time ago)
there either wasn't a newer version, OR not a DL link.

if there is now, cool, where do i find it? also, i wish it wouldn't
expire, b/c its a pita to install since u can't via the market.

having said all that, i use that and your app and i love both, thanks

Uses some weird implmentation of Reciva for radio - not very flexible.

Reports of poor wifi performance.

If you are using a player from the "outside" of your home network, you
will need to open ports 3483 (UDP and TCP) and 9000 TCP, pointing them
to the machine running SqueezeboxServer.

Some modems call this NAT (or port) forwarding and some call them
pinholes.

An iOS device - iPhone, new iPod Touch (not 1st or 2nd generation) or
iPad running iPeng or SqueezePad.

Squeezebox Server or Logitech Media Server running on the system of
your choice.

Analog audio from the headphone port of the iOS device.
Analog line-out from the dock connector of the iOS device.
Digital audio using an HDMI adapter on the dock port of the iOS
device.

IMO, that's far and away the best alternative to using Squeezebox
hardware for playback, and certainly for control/UI.

Not much , MOG support posibility to use multipe music folders ( but
that would probably make it crash ).

Some bugfixes over 7.6.2 but if non of the bugs bothered you, there is
no need o upgrade.

the big thing is probably the dlna/upnp server functionality for revue
and other players ( if it works ) with the added support for pictures
and video, but this is often of no greater interest to squeezebox
users..

I don't think it does anything for audio that you don't have with
7.6.2. I can tell you what I'm doing. At the office, I've installed the
official 7.7.0 just to play with via SqueezePlay as my player. And it is
working fine, with my plugins, spotify, sirius, etc. This said, on my
home system, I'll be leaving that on 7.6.2 for a while (until the smoke
clears). I only use the audio portion of LMS, so nothing great for me
with the additional video, picture scanning

[slim] Has a software update broken MySB again?

2011-11-01 Thread Nick_G

I ask because I just recently downloaded SBS 7.7.0 r9550 after being
prompted. After this I've been listening via MySB for about 20 minutes
but it dropped connection a few minutes ago and now can't find MySB.

Seems too much of a coincidence to me, especially as performance has
been flawless ever since the last fiasco was fixed.

Please, don't let this be a re-run of last time!

Regards,

Re: [slim] BBC iPlayer Radio feeds changed AGAIN

2011-11-01 Thread properjob

Ah!

I'll say more accurately what happens then - an auto update applies
itself, I generally notice when something stops working properly in
SBS, I see the little message to re-start the server, I do so and none
of the iPlayer "now playing" favourites work correctly any more.
Interesting that it doesn't change the URLs, which is what I'd assumed
the favourite was pointing at.

Well it's your plugin so no better person to ask questions. I do love
the iPlayer plugins - it's one of the things that turns Squeezebox
Server into the weapon of choice over pretty much any other for me.
That's why I spit feathers when the things I like about it stop working
for reasons I can't fathom.

So - if I untick auto updates how would I know when best to apply them
at a time of my choosing?

Old links with the older version of iPlayer plugin 1.2.0 will still
work.

New version of plugin needs new links.

If you uncheck the auto update in the Settings/Plugins you can then
control which plugins you want to update and when and so minimise the
housekeeping.

Re: [slim] BBC iPlayer Radio feeds changed AGAIN

2011-11-01 Thread properjob

OK thx for the reply/explanation.

If I stick with the old links the track info stops working so what
you've said is not really an option that fits.

I just couldn't understand why a perfectly good 128kbps AAC+ feed kept
getting replaced with... another 128kbps AAC+ feed, except with a
different URL.

Re: [slim] BBC iPlayer Radio feeds changed AGAIN

2011-11-01 Thread bpa

This is a not a BBC URL change issue but an update to the iPlayer plugin
so that plugin will check the different format feeds to get a working
one.

If you don't want automatic updates - uncheck the box in
Settings/Plugins

[slim] BBC iPlayer Radio feeds changed AGAIN

2011-11-01 Thread properjob

Rant - FFS BBC why do you keep doing this! I dread the little message
"your Plugins have been updated please restart server"

I like listening to BBC feeds and they have useful scrolly info that
comes up about the program you're listening to. Except for (I think)
the 4th time this year they've changed the URLs.

I now have to go in and update all my favourites in SBS for the 4th
time this year.

Sounds good. I do hope that the volume can be locked at 100% so that
the gestures don't affect it,if desired.

This iPeng installation is going to be installed in a car, being served
by a private mobile network. More details when it's finished. :)

Will next update include total playing time for playlists like you see
for albums, made a ticket request for this in the past...

for skip (left/right swipe), volume (up/down) and artwork scale (pinch).
