[slim] Scrolling with Duet Controller hangs in big folder
Hello @all! I have a Synology DS211j, a SB Classic and a Duet Controller. Everything works great except one thing: In one Folder are hundreds of DJ Mixes saved. The files begin from 50 MB to some hundreds of MB per Mix. When I want t scroll with my Duet Controller through this folder to choose a Mix it hangs so that I can't scroll anymore using the wheel. The display is empty, it it should show the names of the tracks. Then I go back and again into that folder. Sometimes scrolling works then for some dozen of files, sometimes not. Where could be the problem? Are there any limitations for files in one folder? Thanks a lot for help. Thanks a lot for help. too many files in one folder can really bog the system down, and you're not using on a powerful computer to begin with. So that's an issue. And folder browsing is even more CPU intensive than just browsing by artist or album (using tags) based on my understanding. The software is optimized for browsing using the database created from tags. A quick diagnostic would be to run LMS on a full computer (PC/Mac), copy over that one big file, do an LMS scan, connect Duet to that LMS install. I could not resist it to look more into it but I found out that my knowledge about the TS-101 has evaporated. I cannot find anymore how I logged into the server. I can see the 'normal' shares but I cannot login to the Debian (?) unix version. Some help or links to information on howto would be appreciated. In the past I have done some linux work so I am still a bit familiar with it. I just need some pointers to get into the system. Anyone? Thanks! As far as Pandora, I'm in the mid-west US and can run it without issues on my Iphone, Ipad, PC. I can access my mysqueezebox.com account and make changes via my PC; I can not access mysqueezebox.com via the player. I've done a fresh install of LMS and performed a factory reset of my Classic.
