Channel classics have a download comparison sampler with three versions
of the same track, one at 16/44, one at 24/96 and one at 24/192.We
definitely heard more space between the instruments in the 24/192
version. Have a listen.Iforget the music, but it was cello driven.

Re: [slim] Zyxel nsa 320 squeEzebox server, No media folders Brownse please help

2012-07-25 Thread Stratmangler

What you're trying to do is easy with a PC running LMS.
Unfortunately you're not doing it with a PC running LMS - the NSA is a
very limited capability machine (it's a file server), and processor
intensive actions are not its forté.
It can't, for example, resample files on the fly.

The final post on the thread you linked to says it all.

Can you not create another folder to place the folder you do not want to
have scanned by LMS?
There's no problem with the NSA, but your expectations of its
capabilities might be too high.

Chris :)

Two simple questions: When you were listening, did you know which
resolution you were listening to? And are you 100% certain all three are
from the same masterings?

I'm running 7.5.5, so I'm not running something that is anceint by any

to the newest version for compelling reasons. All too often there are
issues. So there's a price for running what is current :-).

If you could make it work with 7.5.5, that would be awesome. If not,
then I'll wait until this feature not working bothers me enough to take
a chance on the current version of squeezebox server.

 Thanks.

I totally understand why you don't upgrade and I'm not trying to
encourage you to do it. I've made it a point to support versions back to
at least 7.3, because I know people are running that with NAS devices
that are hard/impossible to upgrade. I think I have a VM already with
7.5.5 loaded for testing; I will check it out within the next few weeks.

7.3 will be really hard in this case.
A lot of things work completely different in 7.3, at least if you use
the SqueezePlay menu system or the respective status
queries/notifications.
I would no longer try to support that today, but hey, it's your App. But
be warned: check it, first, you'll need to use XMLBrowser to get support
for all services.

7.3.3 is something I semi-routinely test with and I agree that it is
problematic. I don't make any guarantees except that I'll give it a
best-effort. Most of the people using older versions realize that it's a
bit tricky and appreciate getting basic functionality working, even if
some things don't work.

OK, that's cool. I created a couple tickets on your website - one about
this issue an another suggesting an enhancement to change the album sort
order.

 Hi Kingwire,

what type of music files are you trying to play? What server version are
you using? Are you using the latest version of SqueezePlayer from the
 market (1.3.3) ?
Do you also get into trouble with 1 SqueezePlayer + 1 SqueezeSlave + 1
Radio (i.e. not more than 3 players playing at the same time) ?

Another idea: can your HTPC run the SqueezePlay software
 (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.7)? This is the
original firmware of the SB Radio so you might get better
 synchronization results with this software?

I'm away from home for the next two weeks (holidays) so unfortunately am
 not able to test myself.
I never did test synchronization between SqueezeSlave + SqueezePlayer -
my tests so far only involved SqueezePlayer and real Squeezeboxes.

I am running MP3s
Newest server, squeezeslave, squeezeplayer
Even with your suggested combo it still show same problems
I chose squeezeslave because you can run it as a service, this is handy
for when using HTPCs to play movies and such as SqueezePlay doesn't seem
to be able to take back priority of the sound card after playing HD
videos.
Any help is appreciated. thank you

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...

2012-07-25 Thread bluegaspode

Hi kingalien,

another user recently detected, that the order in which he synchronizes
devices matters. SqueezePlayer (in the current version) only works as
expected, when it is synced to another device (i.e. being a slave in the
sync group).
I doesn't like being synced to (i.e. being the first device in a sync
group).

Maybe this already solves (part of) your trouble, if not I'm afraid
you'll have to wait for me being back from my holidays where I'm able to
access my Squeezeboxes for further tests.
