[slim] Libratone, anyone ?
It looks like one of my parent's Boom has declared some wireless/display problem, I might need to part with my Boom to replace it. I was thinking of replacing it with an SB3 + a discounted Libratone Beat (or the newer Live w/ airplay if possible). It is compact, has line-in + auto-off so it looks like it would fit the bill. Can anyone comment on the Libratone, or even contrast it with the Boom ? epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96410 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Personally I doubt this will happen. Most people with the expertise could probably command high financial rewards for doing that kind of work, and I doubt they would be prepared to put too much time in for free. This is serious stuff, a lot more than hobby computing. I would be very happy to be proved wrong though! A pro with a hobby then :) mherger whacked together the bandcamp plugin in mere days as a private side project amazing ! This is one of my most used plugins second only to triodes spotify . Bandcamp is not the most complicated of plugins, but it does the basics very well . AFAICT plugins are developed by people primarily for themselves and not for reward. Then the plugin may be released to other users if there is no likelihood of legal repercussion and /or developer is willing to suppoirt users. I reckon supporting user takes way way more time than devleopment time (and can be more frustrating). Plugins to interface to commercial services such as Deezer could be fraught with legal issues (e.g. possibility of copying) and using APIs may require legal undertakings. I think the possibility of these issues would deter developers. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96207 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Simple cheap amplifier recommendation please?
Yes, I have this one -- http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-380 -- and am very pleased with it. It is fed by an SBR connected to mysb and outputs to two BW DM600 speakers. Re: [slim] Audible books on squeezebox?
Audible books play on Win and OSX machines, you could always play books on your PC and use waveinput to get it to your SB device. Audible is owned by Amazon. For a slightly snazzier (and expensive) T amp, I've been *very* happy with this one: http://www.amazon.com/Topping-TP10-MK4-TA2024-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B005F5U8DY gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96358 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
