Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !

2012-09-12 Thread Astix

Hi there!

I am a great fan of Squeezebox and i use iPeng to control my music with
my iPhone and SqueezePad on my iPad (Also great fan of those ).
Everyting works fine atm, i run Logitech Media Server (LMS) on my
computer which has all my music stored and i have a Squeezebox Receiver
hooked to my Home Cinema in the living room and a Squeezebox Radio in my
bedroom. Ok so far so good right

Now instead of downloading music to my computer each time and thus
creating this huge collection (also very time consuming) i finally
realised that online streaming will be the future and therefore i am
making the switch to Spotify, i have a premium account there and i
really really like the concept (and don't even mind paying for it ;-))
So now i come to the problem, i would really like to control my music as
before, but for some reason Spotify does not play through LMS, only
works when connected to mysqueezebox.com (is that right?) I tested this
with my SB-radio which i can easily connect with mysqueezebox.com,
however i cannot connect my Squeezebox Receiver to mysqueezebox.com
(this is the old UDAP issue, it works on LMS just cannot switch it to
mySB). So first question do u have to be connected to mySB.com to play
Spotify content? it cannot work on LMS? If it only works through mySB i
may have to reset my SB receiver again and go through the NET:UDAP
procedure... (i do not have a Duet controller as i have no use for it,
and it's crap resolutionwise compared to retina displays of iPhone and
iPad).

Second question is less important, but i am very attached to nice cover
arts (high res) as i also use my iPad (which i can attach to wall) as a
cover-display; it seems that the coverart through iPeng (and Squeezepad)
running the Spotify App in iPeng/Squeezepad are of really low quality...
i find this strange, because they look really nice using the Spotify app
itself.

Thanks a lot!

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !

2012-09-12 Thread bluegaspode

Hi Astix,

as already told on the other thread: you need to go to the web-interface
of LMS, there to Settings-Plugins and then install triodes 3rd party
Spotify plugin.
Then Spotify will also work through your Receiver - you won't need to
switch to MySB.com (wouldn't help anyway, as Logitech themself don't
support Spotify on the Receiver)

About the cover art: I'm afraid neither me nor pippin from iPeng do have
any influecne on that.
Both App requests the cover art in the highest available resolution from
the server - this is what Logitech hands us over via their Spotify App.

I don't know if the third party App by triode provides better images -
but it is definitely worth a try -maybe this problem is also solved
then!

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !

2012-09-12 Thread Astix

Hi bluegaspode!

Yes it worked like a charm!!! I'm amazed it was that easy hehe :p

Oh and even te coverart looks better! On my iPhone with iPeng it looks
actually really good (not much diff than my own highres covers) on my
retina iPad with Squeezepad it still looks a bit blurry in fullscreen
(not the thumbnails), so yeah i really hope Spotify will eventually
deliver higher res covers which will look sweet on the new iPads too!!
;-)

Thanks!!!

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...

2012-09-12 Thread 2pods

Pretty much as above.

I have Slimserver running on an old QNAP TS101 via wifi with a SB3
squeezebox, and want to do the the same with my Galaxy Tab2.
The tablet reports playback is on in it's SP app, but when I start the
control app it says player not found. Make sure your player is plugged
in and available on the network.

Slim server can't see the the android player via it's web interface
either.

I've entered the server location manually, as the app didn't find it
automatically.

Any help will be appriciated.

TIA

Re: [slim] Keep the spirit up guys; just bought a new Radio and used Receiver

2012-09-12 Thread hvb83

Got my new Touch today and the used Receiver was in the mail too. Very
happy.

Seems the supplies of the Touch are getting slimmer though, at least
here in The Netherlands. My supplier usually provides reliable info on
stocks of them and their suppliers. But even though they clearly
indicated their supplier had enough stock, they needed much longer than
usual for delivery, even though they chased the supplier. Perhaps this
is coincidence, but if people really want a new Touch against a
reasonable price, I wouldn't wait to long.

If SqueezePlayer ist saying WiFi connected it should definitely be
visible on the Web-UI or the Controller Apps.
As you are saying SlimServer are you using at least version 7.4 ?

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...

2012-09-12 Thread 2pods

It's an old version.

SlimServer Version: 6.3.1 - 8476 - Debian - EN - utf8

I don't think anything more recent will work on the QNAP TS101, as it
has very little memory. It still works great with my SB3.

I thought it would be just a case of pointing it at Slim Server.
Obviously not.

What would I have to do to get this working, or would the updated
Logitech versions work on the QNAP ?

For someone who uses the Squeezebox for music services like Pandora,MOG,
etc even 20-30 percent of the time , buying extra squeezeboxes will be a
waste unless plugins are developed for them .

I just don't get this rabid buying of a dead product line unless your
only using

Hi 2pods,
from the SqueezePlayer side there is nothing you can do to make it work,
as it only support server version 7.4+ .
So you either need to try an upgrade on your QNAP (I don't have any
personal experience about whether it would/could work) or you can write
me a mail (with your ordner number) to support(at)squeezeplayer.com, if
you want me to refund you your purchase.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I bought into this product line to listen to *my* music, not someone

I have MOG and I use it and like it a lot. I also have about 70,000 of
my own files (and I'm only 1/2 way through ripping my CDs). I have many
hundreds of albums that are not on MOG or spotify (which I previously
used). And even things that are on MOG in the past sometimes later
disappear. Consequently, having my own music is important to me.
