Re: [slim] Now the Squeezebox is dead, what would your next system be? And why?

2012-12-19 Thread Sakkerju

What would be my choice if all my Squeezebox would fail some day, likely
when MySqueezebox.com dies or when SqueezeCenter software will not run
on my server any longer?
I am thinking of putting a decent USB DAC straight into my NAS port
(hopefully supported by software)
For instance the AudioQuest DragonFly DAC plugged into my Synology NAS
would be acceptable.

The only 'challenge' is to have a proper analog audio connection from
the NAS location in the home powercabinet towards the (pre)amplifiers on
the other end of the living room.
Getting used to Synology's Audio Station and it poorer tag support is a
challenge too!

For kitchen and bedroom, any cheapo DLNA internet radio will have to
do

I suspect this is happening to the UE Smart Radio service too, based on

OK, I've pushed a fix out to the preview channel to fix this. There are
actually a lot of under-the-cover changes, so it needs testing and I'm
off to my other job today. I'm hoping that I will be promoting the

introduced? Just wanted to let you know it is still happening. I tried
to delete app completely and reinstall from the app store as well.

Re: [slim] [Announce] iPeng UE, the iOS App for the Smart Radio

2012-12-19 Thread danc27

The fact this now exists makes me hope that Logitech will eventually
allow us to upgrade Touch's to UE firmware. I know LMS is more
powerful, but if they keep adding more to the UE firmware and
continually support it, then it would be beneficial to me to upgrade.

Although I would still be apprehensive about even the future of the UE
line, because most people still don't need/want a system like this. If
they can somehow market the UE line (and have a full product line, not
just the Radio) just as well as Sonos does, then maybe they have
something going for them.

When my SB3 dies, I´ll use XBMC-HTPC to replay music. I´m already using

I flushed DNS cache on my LMS machine early this morning and Pandora has

Give it a try to see if will help. Before Pandora would not stay

only glanced, but how will this work in terms of allowing access to

missing something, but I don't see a digital out from the player (no
S/PDIF, Toslink or USB). So how would one drive a DAC? Also, seemed to
be designed to output analog to speakers. What about something to output
audio to your preamp (or better yet, DAC Preamp). Seems like a nice
replacement for a BOOM that can drive attached speakers, but doesn't
seem to be a replacement for a TOUCH. Again, just looked at basic tech
 specs but didn't dig deep.

Hi Garym - that was a quick reply! On the Olive one website
http://www.indiegogo.com/OliveONE?c=comments a few people have been
raising similar issues, and I think this reply from the development team
partly answers your question

Hey Benoit, pas de problme! ONE will have digital/analog outputs and
we can look into the EThernet option (might not be so easy). Greetings
to France from sunny San Francisco!

Seems to me that one of these with a decent pair of speakers would be a
match for a pretty expensive hi fi. Another benefit for me at least is
the integrated HD of up to 2.5G, which means the main unit would act as
a server for another 2 ( or more ) units elsewhere in the house. I
realise that your music collection is too large for that scenario, but
it looks pretty cool for those of us with less than 6000 CD's worth of
lossless tracks!.
Regards,
Trev

It's mysb.com generating everyone's problem. Even if you use LMS it
relies on mysb.com for some aspects of the Pandora functionality.
Clixby's diagnostics point pretty squarely at mysb.com being the
problem.

Also, in the last couple days people have been complaining of Slacker
and MOG issues that sound quite similar to this one. I wouldn't be
surprised if all the problems are related and can be traced to an issue
on mysb.com
