- Yes, show me the status bar!
- No, I prefer to have the clean screen.
- I don't care

Yea, we'll see. They did already state that there will be a preview of
the new SDK tomorrow and that it will be released in fall. We'll see
whether there's a public beta this time.
Crown access is also already confirmed but no word about glances, yet.
Using them directly for control would be so much better

I have enrolled for the public beta so I'll be updating in July if I get
selected. I don't mind testing different builds. The slide over view
would be great with iPeng. I have 9 beta 1 installed on my iPad Air 2
and the multi tasking does work great.

Did I read right that the mic and dictation feature is open to
developers in watchOS 2? Could we maybe search for songs using the watch
and add them to the playlist.

Coming back to the current Apple Watch app.. Been using it all the time
and not needing to use my phone (only when I need to playlists). Great
implementation.

Thanks!

You should no longer need that URL. The pre-installed repository file
should contain the Fontreplacer addon. Please remove that entry and try

 again.

1) I WROTE THIS BECAUSE THE POSTING OF BKLAAS ITSELF:

bklaas wrote:
FYI, you want http://benklaas.com/fontreplacer/repo.xml, not a
 github.com URL.

But, I see NOW (with help of your posting), this is probably really no
more the right URL.

2) I HAD NO ADDITIONAL REPOS ADDED ACTUALLY. I HAD TESTED IT DIRECT VIA
SBR AND PC.

Important: If no additional repo is added in LMS, the SBR has
nevertheless an entry for FontReplacer in the 3rd-Party Plugins - which
was NOT successful (Reinstall appears always).

I have the actual Firmware (after switching from UE to SBR).

So this seems to be a real problem for all whitout no extra repo for
FontReplacer.

3) THE RIGHT ADDITIONAL REPO ...

From ...

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Squeezebox_Server_repositories

I see this ...

http://fontreplacer.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo.xml

which points to ...

http://fontreplacer.googlecode.com/files/FontReplacer04252011.zip

You mean this repo, right?

At least the font files are the same, as I have installed now (except
the file names, which are not yet changed in the ZIP).

So for next reset of SBR or so, I could add this repo ...

Thanks!

Dictation is already available in WatchOS 1 and yes, I plan to use it.
The problem is more one of how LMS is organized. The local search will
probably work fine but the global search, which is the only thing giving
you access to services is a hardly-usable mess on the watch, with all
its sub menus

Re: [slim] [Preview] iPeng on Apple Watch

pippin wrote:
Well, both fully featured and reliable are a bit of a challenge on
the Watch, aren't they? Features that include long lists are a no-go on
the Watch - they don't work well and are a nuisance to handle - and
reliability strongly depends on the connection quality which isn't
 always a given.

For now I'm focussing on getting the basics to work well - NowPlaying,
current playlist, selecting a player, a NowPlaying glance. You should
easily see what's playing, be able to quickly turn on/off playback,
change volume or skip to a new track. That's hard enough on the watch.
Things like volume control sound straightforward but aren't give iPeng
usually supports group volume and I don't want to go back behind the
operation mode on iPhone, user's won't understand why things work
 differently on the watch.

In addition to that there's some conflict between add a deep menu
structure and limit the additional features.

After the first version is out I plan to have a poll on which features
make most sense and how many there should be - anything beyond four adds
intermediate menu levels so makes the whole thing more complex to use.

Current candidates for additional features are:

  - Love/rate/star/add to favorites
  - Play from Favorites
  - Search and play from search results
  - Shuffle/Repeat/Random Mix

Given that two slots are currently taken by power and select
player doing all of those is probably a no-go since it would take way
to many interactions to actually do these things.

Starting this thread from the beginning, since my watch just arrived, I
question, personally, the utility of the Power function as one of the
4 precious force-tap items.

I will keep reading this thread...

Re: [slim] LMS on Windows 10 IoT on Raspberry Pi2

2015-06-15 Thread Michael Herger

I am failing to install LMS 7.9 on a Pi2 with Windows 10 IoT installed.
I think the OS is so cut down that this is not supported and I will need
to use Raspbian or similar.

LMS installers as available today will NOT run on Windows 10/Pi. They're
for x86 architectures only. The Pi is running some ARM CPU.

You'd have to install Perl on that device manually. And most likely it
would still fail, as we probably always assume Windows to be running on
a x86 CPU.

Has anyone else tried this and if so how did you get on?

I haven't spent a thought about this yet. After reading how little
Windows there is in Windows 10 IoT, I was wondering why anybody would
even want to install this on a Pi2 :-).

Re: [slim] Is this the Boom Mk2 that Logitech should have made ?

2015-06-15 Thread twizey

I love it! At 10 watts, the sound isn't as powerful as what I had hoped
for, but loud enough for 95% of my consumption around the house. 60%
volume is the level my wife can stand (we have different music tastes).
Bass is surprisingly good. Not so much with the high frequency. I'm not
an audiophile.. so take my comment with a grain of salt.

What I like about it most isn't the sound. It's the overall design. I
can't believe I'd appreciate a tablet this much (as far as OS goes).
Other than TV, this box is now my go to place for anything entertainment
related.
