Re: [slim] Is this the Boom Mk2 that Logitech should have made ?

LMS 7.9 does that if you start it with the nomysb option --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103926 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Remote access via my Android phone - How?
Google Music works great for out of home listening. A quick software install on your home machine, and everything you have (up to 50,000 tracks) is available anywhere for free. ismarketing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30585 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104011 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Rhapsody - no audio with Logitech SB3
pippin wrote: Which issue? The Rhapsody issue or the single-track-for-Spotify one? Technically possible: sure. Allowed by Rhapsody: probably not, they have end-to-end encryption in their security concept, they have to assure that. That's the whole reason for all this hassle. I'm curious how this works with the app on other platforms. On Android or Windows the stream can be captured when output, via Bluetooth, SPDIF, etc. Is the Squeezebox in a contractually different category of devices, or is the digital transport between the LMS and the Squeezebox considered different than a SPDIF transport between a computer and a DAC? Or is there anther difference I haven't thought of? :) DrewSB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=26817 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103529 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Are we near the end...
i would feel better if the last official release of SBS had eliminated any dependency on mysqueezebox.com, too. i packed my SBS environment into an Ubuntu+SBS .ova file i can fire up with Vmware Player anytime, anywhere. that considerably reduces my worries about the future environment. it'll run for a while. As to the devices, i have a ton of them, and not a single one has failed. ...pablo Server: Virtual Machine running Ubuntu 12.04 + LMS 7.7.3 on VMware Player System: SB Touch --optical-- Benchmark DAC2HGC --AnalysisPlus Oval Copper XLR-- NAD M22 Power Amp --AnalysisPlus Black Mesh Oval-- Totem Element Fire Other Rooms: 2x SB Boom; 1x SB Radio; 1x SB Classic- MusicalFidelity M1PWR - Totem DreamCatcher Computer audio: workstation --USB-- audioengine D1 - Grado PS500e pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103926 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Is this the Boom Mk2 that Logitech should have made ?
That's what I use mine for. I installed a copy of Alarm Clock plus. I use this because it has a dimmer, so you can leave it on during the night and still read the time without blinding you. You can also set up the soft keys at the bottom to instant go to your radio app, and get the radio to play to wake you up. I also have rad.io installed for the radio stations, Podcaster for podcasts, Shuttle for mp3s, Mortplayer for audiobooks, Spotify and Squeezeplayer. Now the upgrade made them compatible, I may swap out Shuttle for Poweramp, and rad.io for Tunein. The combination makes a perfect bedside radio with all the audio choices you will ever need. I do not use it to play video, but it does a good job at that also. The things I like are the remote, which allows you to adjust the volume without stretching over to the nightstand. Its also pretty easy to change apps with the cursor keys. The only downside is its pretty big, so it takes up a lot of real estate on the nightstand, and the sound quality is just OK. malaugh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17610 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103810 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Rhapsody - no audio with Logitech SB3
Bluetooth is degraded audio, SPDIF is something you can do on Squeezebox, too, and Apple does create an unbelievable amount of work to make sure AirPlay is mostly secure. End of the day this is all nonsense and I have to speculate about what exactly Rhapsody's contracts say since I don't know but I'd assume there's some requirement for end-to-end encryption so you can't just store the full stream as a file plus they might have to get the player devices certified by their rights holders --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103529 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
