Depend ons on which OS. 
When you are playing a stream - has LMS any subprocesses running
somehting like faad, flac or sox.  On windows socketwrapper.exe will be
the controlling applications.

[slim] Why does Chrome Cast audio sound better than squeezebox classic?

I am convinced that music through ChromeCast sounds better than music
through my squeezebox classic. Better image, more lively, more real.
Same DAC - both use the same external DAC. Same music files.

Am I kidding myself? Can this possibly be?
