After upgrading to Android 6.01, I cannot get SqueezeCommander running. It connects to MySqueezeBox.com and even to my Squuezebox Touch SD Card...(so it "sees" the player) but I get the message "No Player selected". Obvisously it is selected, otherwise it would not see the SD card in the Touch, right? I unstalled, reinstalled the app, restarted the Touch and even logged in and out on both devices on MySqueezeBox. Touch is doing great..but no remote control on my Android phone.. 20448 Please, can anybody tell me what to do? Or is there something I overlooked. BTW I cannot find any settings menu...I never needed it. Re: [slim] Need advice on a hardware player
I've just grabbed a couple of Chromecast Audio. No screen, so you need to control from the phone app / PC, but using the 3rd party chromecast bridge plugin (after allowing it through your firewall), you can treat them as squeezebox devices. Only problem is no gapless playback, so DJ mixes and classical music have a slight gap between tracks. However, I believe some people are using Raspberry Pi mini PCs instead and have even found ways of adding screens to them, along with IR. Bit more expensive though. charlesr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3312 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105583 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It's described here: > http://www.dbpoweramp.com/help/Codec/[Multi%20Encoder]/help.htm I'm a long time dBpoweramp user as well (and highly recommend it). I personally don't use the multiencoder to create FLAC and mp3. I rip my CDs to FLAC and then separately use dBpoweramp to convert the FLAC files to mp3 (Lame -V2) for use in my iThings. For me, no matter how careful I am in ripping to FLAC and making sure metadata is correct, I often notice something I want to change about the tags after the fact. And if it is a multidisk set, I redo the ReplayGain tags using all disks in set to set ALBUM level RG tags. Once I'm 100% happy with FLAC file tags, album art, etc., I can then easily point the dbpa converter to my FLAC file parent directory and tell it to convert to mp3 and place the files (using same directory organization scheme (Artist/Album/tracks) in a parent MP3 directory. It knows which FLAC files have already been converted, so it only converts the new FLAC files I've added, so very simple. I just run this every few weeks to keep my mp3 directory up to date. *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win8(64) > LMS 7.9 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng8 & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105561 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] LMS and Pandora
I did some more digging - and found that Sonos implemented it on 1st October about 2 years ago (I don't know if that is 2013 or 2014 because their forum post does not show precise date. https://en.community.sonos.com/music-services-and-sources-228994/enable-higher-bitrate-option-for-pandora-one-on-sonos-4460034/index3.html#post13031517 So - implies to me that it is a commercial rather than technical reason that prevents it for MySqueeze users.
