Re: [slim] High-end squeezebox speakers
The most high end you can do is simply using spdiff to a real hifi system , enjoy :) ... But for portable small formactor speakers that's goes anywhere , hints and reviews are most vercome . In my secondary locations I use active speakers of any kind that takes analog or spdiff . That opens the field to almost anything as you now can peruse proaudio or "computer speakers" that's was previously a word for really crappy speakers but they tend to merge in the middle nowadays , active monitors getting cheap and computer speakers looking more like active monitors . And you can cut out the traditional hifi dealer in yet another way , go to music store where they sell keyboards guitar etc . They can have a home studio corner . Ah. Now I totally agree about the interference issue. I have a very nice portable headphone amp. Won't work with an iPhone due to mobile signal interference but works perfectly with iPod Touch and iPad with iPeng. So I think we are saying that the iPhone 7 won't have a headphone jack but there will be a lightning adapter in the box. I suppose the real question is will that adapter (with in built DAC and amp?) be as good as the onboard DAC & amp? *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B&W P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106101 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I am hopeful that the new Vizio speakers with built in Google Cast will first sound good and second work with the Castbridge plugin: https://www.vizio.com/smartcast-home-audio I am also intrigued by this speaker: https://www.amazon.com/GGMM-Bluetooth-Featuring-Multi-Room-Streaming/dp/B00WGOO2AW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473436858&sr=8-1&keywords=airplay+speakers I doubt it would qualify as "high-end" but could be good value and I think it looks kind of neat - but only if it works with the airplay bridge. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106103 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
