Re: [slim] Questions on alternatives to SB
Rainer glad to inspire you. I love the Raspberry Pi, Max2play and Hifiberry amp setup, it's compact size allows you to get real creative with it, you simply can't customize your setup like this with off the shelf products. Although I think the price point of the Hifiberry amp is a little high, the dollar per watt is high compared to Sure amps, the way it plugs into the Raspberry Pi is just super clean. One of my next projects will be to mount this setup to a ceiling speaker and power it with one of these power supplies. Then I'll I need to do is run speaker wire to the other ceiling speaker for a super clean and easy setup that's controlled from a smart phone, nice. I'm not that savvy on the software side of things, why just those players? I attached the code of the plugin to this message. @All: Could somebody give this plugin a new home on another repository (It's GPL-licensed)? I could host it on my repository and try to keep it alive (it still works fine with a recent 7.9 server), but perhaps a more experienced squeezebox developer would be better suited than me. +---+ |Filename: KidsPlay.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=21200| +---+ sternenjaeger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57562 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106182 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The "other players" plugin did this , but it's not maintained and is very likely broken . But why walk back to the other room, use a phone or tablet as remote ? Then walk with me becomes more useful if you forget to forward the playlist ahead of you .
