Re: [slim] Windows player?

2019-02-04 Thread JJZolx

The web interface (HTTP) usually runs on port 9000. If you've changed
that (say, to port 80) then it won't matter to SqueezePlay, as it
doesn't use HTTP.

The -only- way I'd consider port forwarding to LMS through a home
firewall is if it's restricted to a single remote IP address, and you
know that address isn't being shared and it doesn't change. I used to
connect remotely from my office to my home LMS server, and only
forwarded connections from the one public address that my work PC was
tied to.

There is a text based config file somewhere that SqueezePlay uses and
I'm pretty sure you can set both the server IP and port in it. When I
find its location I will post again.

Don't try to use remotely without a VPN - you will get hacked.

Thanks for the reply. For me, this "spinning reconnect" is much more
frequent. I think it has something to do with the way my Samsung phone
manages waking up and getting back on wifi. It's worse with Orange
Squeeze; another app I like but which fails to reconnect several times a
day and has to be restarted. Squeeze Commander usually finally makes
the connection after spinning 5-10 seconds.

OK I managed to get some logging infothe skip occurred at about
16:17 today (4/2/19). It was playing Tom Waits "Mr Siegal" (on player
0a:00:27:00:00:02), then skipped before the end and started playing the
Stereophonics "Don't Let Me Down". I don't see anything obvious in here.
Can anyone else spot anything?

I'm still using SC on an Android 7.0 device. It and the "official"
Squeezebox app are my favorites in terms of UX. Unfortunately, the
official app stopped working a few Android versions ago.

Just curious, do you find when you pick up your device and switch back
to SC that it takes 10 seconds or so (spinning circle) to "reconnect"
with your server?
