[slim] Search issue

2019-05-17 Thread RonM

I was watching a basketball game when the Raptors started losing big
time, and decided to turn off the bball audio and listen to music while
watching the game and hoping for a turnaround.

I decided I wanted to listen to a song, Cowboys, but had momentarily
forgotten the artist and album name. So I tried to search on the song
name. Didn't work. I got the error message "Error fetching list: network
error (request timeout)".

Being in the basement in the official viewing area, next to the utility
room with the music server and network apparatus, I switched my
investigation to the server. The artist name is Rhonda Stakich
(singer/songwriter and fine jazz guitarist), and album is "Still".

Back to the search, using Squeeze Cntrl on Android, and both artist and
album searches worked fine, but song search produces the same error
message.

Why should this be? I occasionally do song searches successfully, and
this error is new to me. It seems to imply a search process that
exceeded some length threshold. I do have a large library with thousands
of albums and consequently a lot of songs.

Thoughts?

R.

Re: [slim] iOS 11: Continue to Use Your Squeezeboxes with iPhone and iPad with iPeng 9

2019-05-17 Thread Jursi

Hello!

Am I correct that iPeng party is still unavailable on appstore? I
couldn't find it at least. (ios 11)

Just wondering since I am having a party next week and would like to
allow my friends to choose songs.

Thanks!

Re: [slim] iPhone music playback app - any recommendations?

It looked promising until I got down to the end of the description:

But I've found an app that appears to satisfy all of my original
requirements. Neutron Music Player. Not free, but it seemed to tick
all the boxes in the description, so I took a chance. I can upload
files via FTP, with a complete folder tree. It has no problem with my
OGG+CUE combinations, and recognises all my tags in the cue files.
Tracks are listed in the order given in the cue files. And it even
likes my folder.jpg cover art.

In addition it offers things I wasn't really concerned about, but which
could be useful, such as various DSP effects, including an equalisation
function with options for presets. The interface will take a bit to get
used to I think, but it seems like a good investment so far. I've only
loaded a few folders onto it for now, so will load up a larger selection
to see how it copes with a bigger library.

I read elsewhere that JetAudio supports reading .cue on Android. Maybe
the iOS version has matching feature.
