So do you think it was the clock?

Yes. That's why I asked you to check the clock in my first response
already: encryption relies on correct timestamps. If your clock is out
of sync, you won't be able to connect to servers over secured connections.

Sorry, I never replied to your post from awhile back - yes I can see why
an LED in that case would be annoying! By the way, if you look close in
my drawer organizer pic, you can see I have one of those small Sandisk
sticks, it's an 8GB and I bought it on December 12, 2011 according to my
Amazon history. I bought it specifically to use in my... yep, Blaupunkt
car stereo. Sold the car and the stereo with it not long after. I
remember that stereo was weird in that it played the tracks in the order
they were written to the stick, so if you dragged and dropped (I was
using windows at the time) they sometimes played back out of the
expected track order. Robocopy was the solution.

Sorry! Ignore my suggestion. I forgot (and neglected to scroll back to
check) that you're running pCP on your Pi.

Just to explain, "date" is a command that is run at the command line. In
order to use it on pCP, you would need to ssh into the Pi and login,
then type "date" on the command line, and hit the "enter" key.

The date command should then output something like this, allowing for
locale differences:

Code:

Mon Oct 24 17:07:04 EDT 2022

There may well be some way to check the time from the pCP web interface,
but if so, I have not found it, so I am no help at all.

2022-10-24 Thread Michael Herger

Recurring problem. Running LMS in RPi attached to WIFi CAT 6.
Streaming to SB Touch wirelessly.

What Pi? What operating system? What LMS & Spotty version? What spotty
helper application (see Settings/Advanced/Spotty)?

When I pull up Spotty app via iPeng it gives me Failed to get access
token check advanced settings via web interface.

I do that making and even try deleting the account info and reloading.

Is there no red hint when you enter the settings page? Some information
about the failure?

Now if I switch Touch to LMS on my laptop, it connects to Spotify no
problem.

Check your server.log for Spotty relevant messages. And check your Pi's
clock.

[slim] Speaker cost, Europe vs China

2022-10-24 Thread v2k

Hello all,
Despite everything that's happening in the world there might be a new
pair of speakers for the home office this christmas. I thought I'd go
with something that is made in Europe, the most likely contenders are
Dynaudio, Amphion or Sonus faber. Then I got thinking about price
differences, manufacturing moves abroad for a reason and don't want to
buy new speakers just to get a pair made "locally". I searched a bit but
found nothing that I could make sense of. Given all the variables this
might be impossible to answer but I thought I'd still ask, does anyone
know what a €1000 European made speaker would cost if it where made in
China (in broad generalisation)?.

Take care!

[slim] Obscure Transporter Hardware Question

2022-10-24 Thread sgmlaw

Whilst removing the 5v supply board from a TP for a preventative recap,
I discovered that one screw was never installed on TP's mainboard, right
at the mains inlet socket, nearest the fuse holder.

These are all non-magnetic T10 screws. And the local hardware store is
useless in these matters.

Does anyone know the exact size and thread pitch of these board mounting
screws, and more importantly, where a spare can be sourced?
