Re: [slim] Mac filenames
Open terminal and follow the instructions. The $ are just to tell you its a new line, do not include them. $ cd /Volumes $ ls This will list for you all the hd volumes you have mounted on your Mac at the moment. Next type: $ cd [the name of you network drive] $ ls Next navigate to the folder that contains the music files: $ cd [music folder name] Lastly, type: $ pwd This will list for you the full path to your HD. The reason the remote function is non functional only on your wireless connection is because when a button is pressed on the remote the Squeezebox does not know what to do with that. It is SLmServer that is telling the Squeezebox what the button that was pressed is supposed to do. Re: [slim] Slim.exe must close
If you open Services.msc and scroll down to SlimServer. Right click on it and go to properties. What is the startup type? -- Anoop M. Re: [slim] Slimserver Problems running on Windows Vista
dfetzer;208686 Wrote: vista home premium, ss 6.5.2. The slimserver starts in vista and installs fine, I can bring up my songs and it looks like the db is getting updated with new songs, BUT I can not connect to the slimserver from the squeezebox. I removed all authentication and I can connect to the squeezenetwork, but I can't connect to ss. It simply says connecting to slimserver and then black screen - left arrow shows problem connecting...blah blah... I realized then when rebooting in xp mode that I had version 6.5.1 installed and unistalled that, but the slim tray icon is still there after unistall. I think that its looking at the vista installed copy on a different harddrive??? Regardless, any help would be appreciated Have you checked Vista's firewall? Are there any other firewalls installed on the computer? What antivirus? All these may be coming into play here. -- Anoop M. Re: [slim] All of a sudden, Can't find music files
scottmd1;206676 Wrote: Hey all, I was over at my folks house this past weekend and they have a problem I could not figure out. They have a SB2 that has been operation flawlessly for a year. I have the SB hooked directly to an old PC of mine that locked up on them while there were out of town for a few months. I rebooted the PC and everything seemed fine. They reported that when you browse artist/genre/album it says empty...and indeed it does. The odd part is, if you browse the music folder, all of the music is there and it works fine! I uninstalled the software, re-installed it and have the same issue. Oh, and when you play something using the browse/music folder way, it will then show up in the artist/album/genere area of browse. I have clear and rescan about 100 times. All of the files are .flac files... Any ideas or suggestions? Have you tried to Nuke the prefs file and then do a rescan? Stop SlimServer and then delete the SlimServer.pref file (c:\program files\slimserver\server\) and delete the cache folder (c:\program files\slimserver\cache). After they are deleted, restart SlimServer and do another Clear Library and Rescan Everything. -- Anoop M. Re: [slim] No display on the SB3 unit
Try a factort reset. Unplug the unit and WHILE you plug it back in hold down the add button on the remote. -- Anoop M.
