Re: [slim] What is missing from your Squeezebox experience ?

2012-06-22 Thread Echo

What's missing for me is a flexible and intuitive interface for setting
up and running automated playback schemes. My daily routine is fairly
consistent and I'd like to create a number of unique music play back
scenarios for morning and evening listening, for both weekdays and
weekends.

I would like to define times periods, players to be included (or
removed) from a synchronized group (even during a period), what is
played for each player or group, and flexible volume controls. Some of
this can be achieved using the alarm function but it's far too limited.

complicated setup than most who are having problems. SqueezePlay also
works much better.

I had problems with 7.5.3, specifically the alarm would not function
reliably with a synchronized group of players. I took avta's advice to
try 7.6 and it works great.

I'm using a Synology 1010+ NAS (with SSODS4 4.11 to run SB
7.6.0-31915). With 7.5.3 and lower it took 40 min to do a 'clear
library and rescan everything' on 20K tracks. The PC (with Ubuntu) I
used prior to the NAS had performance. First clear rescan with 7.6
took 8:40 - I didn't believe that was correct so I redid it and the
second time was 6:20, that's 6 times faster! In addition the web
interface is much more responsive and all the issues I had with
SqueezePlay are gone, save a barely noticeable sync delay.

Just like with EAC, SyncBack has an option to export profile settings.
It's under Profiles in the menu bar. Export all profile to a USB flash
drive and import once SyncBack is installed on the reformmated system.

I agree, an 'Off Topic' forum is a good solution, but I'd be among
those who wouldn't read it. I'm a recent owner of the Duet (and
additional receivers) and these forums have impressed me with the
knowledge and helpfulness of the community. I continue to visit to
stay current with new and planned features. I also like that the forums
have a tight focus on its primary purpose.

However like most forums once the majority of regular users have
attained a certain level of knowledge either people visit less or
discussions start to drift. An 'Off Topic' section would help to
satisfy those who want it and contain such discussions to one area. As
stated by Mike, General Discussion is for all things; it's not really an
issue right now but if off topic threads become more prevalent then GD
should be moved from the top of the User Forums. The forums at the top
should be the most relevant to the Logitech's interest - a new visitor's
first impression shouldn't be one of sports topics or lolcats.

Copy the jive_7.2_r3070.bin file to the SD card (don't rename it) and

 Thanks!

Not really :(.

In my case, the controller would work fine until I went to the Music
Library Artists branch. No matter which artist I picked (single or
multiple albums) the controller would lock-up and reboot as soon as I
when to the screen. The controller also would reboot when it came out
of sleep mode.

There was no change at all with the tracks in my library; it started
when I tried the 7.3 beta (although downgrading to 7.2 didn't help
either). The firmware on the controller was relatively old (late
August) and wouldn't update on its own. I haven't noticed any problems
since going to 7.2r2920.

This is a much more precise method for moving rapidly through the

the iPod spin method of acceleration - sore thumb included.
