Sad to see that UE, as a top brand in Pro Audio, does not have a audiophile player and we have to deal with a crappy transistor radio to play the carefully selected flac file's. just noticed that squeeze player on my Android device does the same as the player in the iPad. Random connection loss. The official logitech and slim devices keep on playing as well the softsqueeze on a laptop. All devices get a good wifi signal (all over 85%). Both keep silent when the connection loss occurs. And i'm not quit shure if there is no difference in protocol. Since 7.7.0, logitech appears in my old Noxon to Audio device as a locked upnp server. I did a test with the portable devices in 1 meter range of a fully reset different acces point, just to be shure there is a nearly perfect receiption. Both players randomly lost connection, while other devices still could be accessed with squeezepad, so the app is stable. problems are only with the players. Routers/ap's used are Linksys and Senao en both gave the same problems. It does not make any difference in mp3 or flac bit rate. Even 128k mp'3 stop playing. But NEVER in the middle of a song, ALWAYS during song change. Volume goes down, player is gone in device list and only come back after restarting the player. Notifications did exist on iOS4 and did not give any problems. When SP lost connection, it keeps playing the current song and then stay still and freezes the transport keys. After a while nothing seems to work anymore. The red or yellow window never turns up when the connection gets lost. I tried to switch off the router en then these message do come up. So I think it is or a SP or iOS issue. Since my iPad is running on iOS 5 I have some problems using Squeezepad. 1. When another sound comes in, like mail notification, the volume goes normally down and after notification it comes up and plays the music. Now, mostly the audio keep muted als the volume slider stays low. When I pull the slider up, it goes down again and the only solution is to force close squeeze pad and start again. 2. squeezepad somtimes lose the connection to the squeeze server.
