I have never had any problems with the squeezebox wireless connections using a Dlink DWL-2000AP+ Which I now try and keep exclusive for Squeezebox devices. [slim] Moving from Wirelss to Wired
I have recently finished installing full cat5e around the house. Looking for advice on the easiest way to move the majority of my devices (Boom, Receiver, Touch and Radio) onto the wired network. Do I need to fully reset each device and start again or is there a quicker way? Is there any disadvantage moving them onto a wired connection (apart from the obvious)? In order of preference here goes, SqueezeRemote for Windows Phone 7 - Works really well and has lyrics, artist notes and I love the Metro interface. Squeezebox Control for Windows phone 7 - Partners phone nearly as good as SqueezeRemote. SB Controller - Still use this if in a hurry but find the display a bit small. From time to time I also use the web interface on various PC's and even the infra red remotes. I just like the fact I'm not restricted and can use all these devices to access my music easily and quickly. [slim] Smooth Upgrade to 7.6.1
Took the plunge and upgraded to 7.60 then 7.6.1 (r33048) as advised. Finding there has been a flury of 7.6.1 releases over the last couple of days. Everything now looks good on my HP WHS (Ver 1) platform. Definite performance increase and far smoother. - thankyou Just one question, all the devices had their firmware upgrades after upgrading as follows:- Duet controllers (2) 7.6.1 r9478 Duet receiver (2) 77 Boom (3) 57 Touch 7.6.1. r9478 However the radio is 7.6.1 r9468 Why? Normal they all upgrade in step I have tried a manual upgrade and it says that 9468 is the latest. Thanks for the quick reply, I thought 7.6.1 may still be beta however my server has prompted me twice in the last week with 7.6.1 releases and this normally only happens witha release version of the software. Hi Sebastian, thank you for a fantastic application which just seems to get better and better. I am currently running version 1.5 on a HTC Touch HD and everything just works. I am considering upgrading to the new Windows Phone 7 platform and was wondering if you have any plans to release SlimCtrl as an app to run on this platform? Thanks for the reply, I have tried everything again double checking all the steps as suggested. Everything does seem to be 'going through the motions' but no sound. I am still unable to adjust the volume slider in the player window and it defaults to the lowest setting (1 segment). Is there something i can do manually here to see if this is the issue? I have looked in the server log and there doesn't appear to be any messages. I have a gut feeling the issue is with media player streaming? Is there any test i can do at the command line or otherwise to check what it is being stream or not? I have done some further investigation but I am struggling to isolate where the problem lies. I am running the latest version of squeeze centre (7.2.1. On my internal network I have opened opened a URL and streamed 192.168.5.254:9010/stream.mp3 - everything appears okay the status bar moves and everything seems correct. I then load up the correct player in another window and changed the streaming to 128 kbs streaming. (this is reflected in media player if I right click on properties of the URL. I then select either a natural sound file - nothing even though it appears to be playing in the right hand window of squeeze centre. If i try a playlist the same however it does seem to jump around the tracks. Not sure where to go now seems close - is there any diagnostic etc i can run to trace what is happening and maybe give me a clue as to where the problem lies? [slim] Streaming to Windows Mobile 6.1 device
Hi, My first proper post so appologies if i'm missing the main facts but i've come to a dead end! I'm trying to stream to the above, i have followed the remote Streaming guide from the wiki and lame is installed (library is all flac). mobile media says receiving 320k stream. but when is select a playlist or album no sound. My server is a HP Mediasmart WHS. SqueezeCentre is on 9010. Observations etc:- I can access the squeezecentre using 192.168.5.254:9010/handheld from the mobile without a problem BUT it will not let me adjust volume (lowest setting) or change any other status. This is also the same if i select it from a pc and select the correct device in the top right corner. I have had a look at the log but not sure what i am looking for! It seems so near yet so far? This is all on the internal network. The next step is to stream remoteley over the internet if anyone has some tips on what ports i need to open and forward. Any help wellcome. Thanks for the prompt reply, I entered the above as a URL in media player and it then said connected, went back to the browser and selected a playlist but still nothing - grrrh! I'm sure it is very close. Is there anything i can do or look at to give me a pointer in the right direction?
