Some months have ellapsed since Orange Squeeze was released, and today, thinking about it, I've seen how it has changed the way I listen music while I'm in front of my computer since then. I don't use any program in the computer nowdays, I just plug my mobile on the dock, start Orange Squeeze (and SqueezePlayer automatically)... Thanks for the program Ben, and to SqueezePlayer developer too of course. Anyway, I have a few proposals, mainly UI-related: * In now playing view: - show album year after album name. Something like This is the album name (year) - pressing in track title should open a new window showing track info. I'm specially interested in an option to show/change rating (Erland's TrackStat plugin) fast and easily, and to see other track info (playcount, lastplayed...) - show tracknumber with track title * In albums view: - show year with album name: year - album, album (year)... - I don't find a way to sort albums by year. Finally, I've cleared default action for dock (it started clock-dock app). So now I put the phone on the dock, close which app to start in dock mode? dialog every time, and connect the speakers as mobile's headphones. It's the better solution I've found. Main problem is that dock only redirects sound to speakers when dock-mode is enabled and a supported player is running (CM7 default music player, Mort Player or TuneIn Radio applications work). SqueezePlayer was not included in the list of supported players, so I had to start Mort Player, pause it, and run SqueezePlayer in order the sound to be redirected. Too much work, and often stopped working. Thus, I unplugged the speakers from dock and use phone headphones plug. [Dock mode] Hi there, it was me who asked for a dock mode :) I'm not familiar with android development, but I've found a mention to an intent android.intent.category.DESK_DOCK [1] that is triggered when a physical contact is noticed between phone and dock. More info: [2]. I haven't been able to find how an app can be registered as a music player in dock... maybe [3] could be useful, but as I stated before, I have no experience with android development. First, thanks for this marvellous program. I bought it just after one of your initial releases, and it has become my main controller since then. A couple of comments: - Every 10-20 minutes the app loses the connection to the server, showing this error message: Connection Error. No Network Available. I've checked and I do have a working connection, as I can browse and even Squeeze Commander can connect to the server from the phone. It happens with SqueezePlayer in the phone and with a Squeezebox device, but it's more common with SqueezePlayer. When using SqueezePlayer, it shows wifi connected message in Connection. Also, it looks like in v1.1 it doesn't happen so frequently, as before the connection drop was every 5-10 minutes. My phone is a Nexus One rooted with CM7 (android 2.3.7) and it's connected to a local wireless lan. I run squeezebox server 7.1 in a x86_64 Fedora 16. I own the official Nexus One dock. - Maybe somehow related to the previous comment is this suggestion. I also use SqueezePlayer + OrangeSqueeze while my Nexus One rests in the dock. It would be a good addition to be able to select OrangeSqueeze as the app for Use dock for audio settings. Sometimes SqueezePlayer + OrangeSqueeze output does not sound in the speaker connected to the dock because Dock settings thinks there is no music program running, so I have to start one (a common music player), pause it, and then play SqueezePlayer + OrangeSqueeze. I can't be completely sure but I think that the first problem not only happens with the dock + SqueezePlayer, but with the Squeezebox device as well.
