Re: [slim] Sticky Surface on Remote Controls And The Rear Of A Touch

2019-11-10 Thread Jayrcee

Try using Denatured Alcohol. It works better than Isopropyl. I had a
Harmony remote that began to get sticky and Denatured worked much
better.

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !

2013-03-31 Thread Jayrcee

Hello bluegaspode,
It probably has nothing to do with your app but rather the iTunes store,
but I have been trying today to purchase the in-app Squeezepad Playback
feature and I keep getting a Purchase Cancelled error. Any
suggestions?

Any reason why you're discounting Sonos? From my perspective, Sonos
does everything that I need, albeit at a higher price than I would
ideally like. I could probably sell my various squeezeboxes whilst they
still have some market value for enough to start a 2 zone Sonos system.
It's not a scenario I'm entirely happy with, as my squeezebox system is
working perfectly, but I guess we're all in the same boat from that
 point of view.

For me, the fact that Sonos doesn't support HiRes audio and the track
limits are the two factors I can't go that route.

Re: [slim] Best Hard Drive Format...Switched From PC To Mac

2012-02-20 Thread Jayrcee

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! After a little research, HFS+
seems the most practical for me, however ZFS has me intrigued :) I
forgot to mention that in the near future, I plan on ripping my Blu-ray
collection to hard drives as well. They would be placed together with
the new music drive in an Atom based media server of sorts.

[slim] Best Hard Drive Format...Switched From PC To Mac

2012-02-19 Thread Jayrcee

I just switched from a PC to a Mac and am in the process of moving all
of my systems files over to my Mac's internal hard drive (presently
formated in the default Mac OS Extended (Journaled)). I would like to
stay within the Mac ecosystem from here on out. I would like to to
know what file format I should use for my new WD 2tb external hard
drive that I plan on copying my music collection over to? It's
doubtful I will be working in a Windows environment anymore. I need it
to be compatible with Logitech Media Server and my Squeezebox Boom. On
my PC I had my music scattered over 3 NTFS formatted internal hard
drives and I want to consolidate it all on the new 2tb external.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the response!
My music is already in FLAC format. I need to know what file format
the hard drive should be formatted to :)

Re: [slim] ANNOUNCE: iPeng for iPad - Your Squeezebox Remote Gets Big

2010-11-27 Thread Jayrcee

pippin;591278 Wrote:
If you do that right after start it can take a while until iPeng even
_starts_ to load the artwork, it has to load the first part of the
 album list first.
Crashes aside this usually should not happen very often with iOS 4.x.

SqueezePad uses these tiny thumbnails that SqueezePlay uses so the
server doesn't have to resize them.

But I believe in this case the issue is really the delay until artwork
loading starts at all. Maybe I should change the startup sequence
 here.

What I do right now is done because I want to keep the load on the
server low while iPeng is still requesting the basic tables (Artists,
 Albums, Genres).

I don't understand that one. Do you mean it doesn't work when you hit
the command the first time? I don't see this.

I've had a few reports on this, also on iPeng for iPhone.
My problem right now is that I can't seem to get hold of the 4.2.1
build. My iPad is running 4.2.0, that's what was originally intended to
be the gold code and iTunes now tells me my iPad was up to date and I
also can't find a download for the 4.2.1 update.
With 4.2.0 iPeng currently runs rock solid for me but I also mainly use
my current update which is waiting at Apple's for a few days now.

pippin,
If you are running iTunes 10.1, when you connect your iPad you should
get a prompt saying that 4.2.1 update is available (automatic way).
Otherwise, you can get the update directly from Apple by going to
appldnld.apple.com/iPad/061-9857.20101122.VGthy/iPad1,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw
and doing a manual update.

Updating to iOS 4.2.1 Automatically Via iTunes

1. Download iTunes 10.1.

2. Connect your iPad to the computer.

3. iTunes shows an iOS 4.2.1 update message.

4. Click the “ Download and Update ” button to update iPad to iOS
4.2.1.

Updating to iOS 4.2.1 Manually Via iTunes

1. Download iOS 4.2.1 IPSW for iPad from Apple.

2. Download iTunes 10.1.

3. Connect your iPad to the computer.

4. Choose your device from the left sidebar.

5. Press the Shift key(in Windows) or the option key(in Mac OS X),
click on the Restore button.

6. Now browse to the iOS 4.2.1 IPSW file and select it.

That’s it! Your iPad will now be updated to iOS 4.2.1. Hope this
helps!
