Re: [slim] DSBridge - A simpler way to stream Spotify
Hi again After de + reinstalling SBS (but without removing settings) I tried what was suggested, to use "localhost" instead of the actual host ip address (could then not establish a connection) but after that I tried with the IP address had just removed I got it running again. Seems like some strange setting in SBS that was persisted got overwritten. /J -- Jones Jones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21836 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64590 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] DSBridge - A simpler way to stream Spotify
Hi, First of all, thanks to all SB enthusiasts out there, without this community I would have sold my devices a long time ago. I have had two nices weeks streaming spotify to my 2 duets, even got them to synchronise, but after some Java update and Windows patches and the Spotify track is completely dead. In the SB controller window I can see that I get a connection and its buffering but there it stops. After maybe 5 minutes I get the graphical envelope but never any music. Anybody encountered and mastered this? Running SB 8.5 on Win XP Dont know if its connected but when in the web GUI I enter the "enter web adderss for radio" dialogue I get the following error message in the browser: Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Timestamp: Fri, 4 Jun 2010 16:59:02 UTC Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 216 Char: 4 Code: 0 URI: http://127.0.0.1:9000/tunein.html?player=00:04:20:16:30:14 Thanks, Jones -- Jones Jones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21836 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64590 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

My provider has the fastest and most stable Internet and the right selection of TV channels for my tastes. They do offer an STB that doesn't need Internet connection, but the one that does offers superior picture quality, video on demand and pay per view. Down the line, they also promise up to 48 hour timeshifting for all channels, i.e. you can watch anything that started and finished within the last 48 hours. For these reasons, I'm sticking (stuck?) with them. It works apparently, but every 15 minutes or so I get a warning message that fills the screen, informing me that I do NOT have an Internet connection. But my cable TV never shuts down. Based on input here, I will get a double socket installed and use the second one for the Transporter until I need it for something else. Then I can always go wireless again for the Transporter. If you want cable, but are not an Internet customer, they will supply a free modem and a carrier line that cannot be used for any other purpose. You pay for hookup. Allegedly, the sole purpose of the Internet connection is to monitor that the cable subscription and Internet subscription belong to the same address, but, yes, there is obvious potential for abuse. [slim] Wired or wireless
I've had my Transporter for nearly a year and have so far had no option but to go wireless. I have never experienced a single drop-out playing FLAC files from my ReadyNAS. Signal strength is 80-85%. I will soon be installing wired Ethernet in my living room, because my cable TV provider is switching to a set-top box that requires an always-on Internet connection to fight piracy. Instead of having a single socket put in, I could just as easily have a double socket installed. Given that my wirelss is "perfect," is there any reason to consider wiring my Transporter? [slim] how to play by track number during 'browse music folder'
The title pretty much says it all. I use 'browse music folder' almost exclusively because I have organized my music collection by directories that make sense to me. When using 'browse music folder', the tracks are added to the playlist alphabetically rather than by track number. Is there any way to change this behavior? This seems to have started with the 6.2 release. thanks, Robert Jones -- robert.b.jones robert.b.jones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3300 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23004 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] SlimServer 6.0a2 problem with Pocket PC browser
I'm having the same problem. It looks like the URL is being corrupted somewhere (probably on the Pocket PC), in that the &sub= is missing, or rather has become a none-displayable character. If the URL is corrected in the address bar, the server responds as expected. Looking at the html in the skins, two styles of link can be generated depending on the %descend% variable (I've no idea what that represents), which wasn't in the older versions of the skins. The other style link with the &p0= etc. works fine. You can see this by using the browse folder link, which doesn't (yet) have the %descend% code. I would guess that the Pocket IE 2003 is interpreting &sub= as ⊂= and substituting some html escape character. BJ -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
