They are constantly upgrading the product (unlike LMS). I'm going for it but I don't think I want a lifetime license... Not yet anyway. Look where Squeezebox went, for example. And with Roon you might be able to migrate away from Logitech devices too. Re: [slim] Roon, a SqueezeBox ecosystem alternative ?
Ever since Logitech dumped the Squeezebox I've been looking for a replacement (for future needs and expansion). I'm currently in the 14-day trial period for Roon - and it's wonderful. Plays to all my Squeezebox devices - and AirPlay devices as well. Organizes all my music, and makes it accessible. In fact, I am listening to music far more often now. I have so many tracks that I haven't heard for so, so long that it is bringing back to life. Yes I had the Erland plugins and SugarCube, etc. And was running LMS 7.9. But this Roon is a full generation ahead. I imagine this is where Logitech would have taken the Squeezebox if it had persevered. Roon is pricey, but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and subscribe. I won't pay for the "lifetime" subscription, just in case Roon craps out like Logitech did. Re: [slim] Media scan terminated unexpectedly
I disabled all plugins (Third Party or not), and deleted the cache folder. I'm re-scanning now, hoping that everything scans properly. If so, I'll add back the plugins one at a time (rather than selecting everything that sounded interesting all at once). Thanks for your help. I'll be back if things don't go well. Re: [slim] Media scan terminated unexpectedly
Had a disk crash and had to re-populate my music files from backups. I also re-installed LMS 7.9.0. Trying to scan all those files back into the database, and repeatedly get (at 00:02:28 time) media scan terminated unexpectedly. Server log (zipped) and scanner log attached. +---+ |Filename: server.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20108| +---+ Lyster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17183 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104138 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

With Moodagent and Squeezebox, would there be a need for a product like Spicefly's Sugarcube? -- Lyster Lyster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17183 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85983 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Tweaking Synchronization
When I had difficulty keeping my duet in synch with Softsqueeze, I bought a Boom - and have not regretted it. No problems with synchronization. I just bought a SB Radio for the kitchen, and all started well, but last night it would lose synchronzation with the other SB units. [slim] Controller Battery Life
I wonder if I have a defective battery or charger. The controller seems to keep a charge only a short period of time (perhaps long enough for one album to play through). Sometimes when I place the controller in its cradle, it actually discharges the battery! Anyone else have these issues? Re: [slim] How do you restart SqueezeCenter?

It will end Squeezecenter.exe, but then when it attempts to start it again it shows in the task manager for a few seconds and then disappears. Mine did the same thing - after the fourth attempt at running the file, it finally worked. -- Lyster Lyster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17183 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51907 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
