[slim] Transporter and Text scrolling
Hello I am not able to get a nice fluid scrolling text. I use the large font size and during scrolling the text quick stops and then jumps a little forward. This is about every four to six seconds. I have this with 7.3 and now also with 7.4 - 25661. The Transporter is wireless connected and at 88% signal strenght. The server is a dualcore AMD windows vista box. There are 5 players connected. The server has about 2-10% cpu load and 0.5to1% network load (only with the Transporter running). I tested several different values and never get a nice scrolling text. Currently for large fonts they are: Scroll Rage: Large Text Scroll Rate: 0.032 Scroll Pixels: Large Text Scroll Pixels: 2 What can I do to get it fluid? I only know iPeng. It is nice, but I don't understand why the slider buttons are not bigger, its hard to adjust volume - but this may be a iPhone issue or my fingers... I just downloaded the lattest nightly (7.0.1 - 18409) and got the same error on updating the squeezebox3 (fw 86). My Sister has an MSI AXIS 700 Lite, 1GB RAM and 4 Squeezeboxes running - never a problem. Server is not stressed at all. I had no problems at all... Then installed(configured)a xbox360 as a mce extender. That pice of sh... not only deleted my entire mediaplayer library, it also changed file permission of my music folder. I only give read right to microsoft software... Also slimserver now has a problem streaming files - the squeezebox still can connect to the server but no playback... [slim] How Many Squeezeboxes wiht NAS
Hello My sister is building a new home. Now as an all in one music system I recommended her a Squeezebox setup with a nas server. Does anybody know how many Squeezeboxes can simultaneous stream mp3 music from a nas server? And are there connection limitations to the SlimServer and a limitation with wireless boxes? She would need a setup of seven Squeezeboxes maybe half of them wireless. Actually I have no NAS in mind yet... It was only a idea to use Squeezeboxes and NAS. So with wired boxes and for example the NAS Slim Devices offers as a bundle - it won't work? There are two families living in the house so a multiroom system would not be an option.
