Re: [slim] Can't listen to Live 365?
I find 7.0 to be just fine for my purposes. I don't need all the whistles and flutes that have been added to later version and it's been extremely stable. It's just a shame I can't get Live 365 to work? Since the system has not had any upgrades, and used to work quite happily (till last week), I suspect (rightly or wrongly?) it must be a SN problem? I guess I'll have to wait and see if it self cures it's self. -- Smiffy Tennis was invented so that man dog would have something slimy to play with together. [slim] Can't listen to Live 365?
Can any body shed some light on this for me? I tried yesterday to listen to a Live 365 station but to no avail. I can browse genres see all my favorites etc, but when I click play I get (checking connection) then (stopped). The display shows what should be playing which would suggest it's connecting and getting the stream but can't play the music? I did try the URL in VLC and it worked. could 365 have changed the stream type? The server log shows :- 09-09-08 06:23:34.1983] Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (1609) Error: While opening current track, so mark it as already played! Re: [slim] Problem with Live365
Thanks for the help Guy's. The account is a free one, I quite like the American Adverts their quirky compared to the UK ones. I've checked the server log and it's complaining that the Playlist is corrupt? The only other thing I haven't done yet is to reboot the router, Ill try that tonight as a last resort. It's strange that I can see my pre-set's, search stations get the station info scroll across the screen but not connect and hear the music. :-( -- Smiffy Tennis was invented so that man dog would have something slimy to play with together. Re: [slim] Problem with Live365
I just found i can't play anything from Live365? It seems to be displaying the currently playing track info but does not play any music saying it could not connect? Ive not changed anything. Tried rebooting the PC but still the same, all other radio stations play fine. Re: [slim] Random Song Restart
Don't know if this helps but. A Couple of day's ago my bedroom SB3 started to restart a song randomly, the display would go blank for 2 seconds and come back again randomly. I have traced it down to the router I use. It appears to be temperature sensitive. Now summer has arrived and the room temp is 21°C the throughput of the router drops intermittently to 1Mb, putting a cooling fan on the router cured the problem. -- Smiffy Tennis was invented so that man dog would have something slimy to play with together. Re: [slim] Playing cd's
Thanks for the great plug-in bpa. It's been a failing of the system not to be able to play a CD without first having to rip it, only then to find out the music was not worth the time effort in the first place. One quirk I have found is, if I play just track 4 (cdplay://-t 4) on any CD I only get 35 seconds worth of music? all other tracks play out completely? Is it me or has any one else found this. Thanks for that Bpa, my system is a little antiquated like it's user! I'll try your suggestions. Re: [slim] Connecting to the internet
twenty8;258334 Wrote: Apologies if this is a dumb question - but I am a real noobie!! I have my squeezbox sitting in the kitchen which is connected via cat5 to a hub / ethernet and then this is then connected to my pc (which has my slimserver). My PC is connected to the internet. Have the SB working perfectly with regard to playing from the pc. However the problems arrive when I try and start internet related activities - eg updates, RSS feeds, internet stations etc. The SB says that it failed to parse and failed to connect. I have an IP address of 192.168.0.1 set as my pc and 192.168.0.6 as the SB. I have been reading up about this - and I think it may be to do with the DNS and Gateway address. They are set as 0.0.0.0 on the SB. Is this the problem? If so - what should I set these to? Would appreciate any help that you can offer. Thanks. I had the same problem. You have to set the DNS Gateway to the IP address of your router. It cured my problem. good Luck -- Smiffy Tennis was invented so that man dog would have something slimy to play with together. I've had the same happen to me. Luckily it was a weekend and I didn't miss work. I get around the problem by creating a play list with the radio station first followed by a local song. I like most have had the trouble with the non sleeping Ts101.
