Re: [slim] Squeezebox Classic frequent WiFi disconnects

2011-05-31 Thread Tozz

Then I guess that is my issue, because the symptom is not that complex.
The devices loses connectivity to the network. From one moment to the
other I see retransmissions from my SB Server to the SB3 and after a
few seconds (when the buffer is empty) the device stops playing music.
Then it reconnects and the process starts over again.

Ah well, wanted a Touch anyway ;)

Did that, tried static instead of DHCP, but doesn't help. The IP
settings are correct.

The MAC on the sticker matches the MAC used on the network

[slim] Squeezebox Classic frequent WiFi disconnects

2011-05-29 Thread Tozz

I have 3 Squeezebox'es in my home, a classic, Duet and a Boom. All are
using wireless connections using a Cisco Aironet 1140 Accesspoint.

Since some time my SB Classic frequently disconnects. When playing an
MP3 or stream the music stops after about 10 seconds because it needs
to reconnect to the network. After about 2 to 5 tries where the music
stops every 10 sceonds the device gives up and stops playing. When I
connect the device to the network using a cable the device works fine.
So it has something to do with the wireless connection.

As far as I know nothing has changed on my network, nor has my devices
been moved. My other squeezeboxes work fine, so I dont think it is a
WiFi problem. All I can think of is a firmware upgrade since the
latest squeezeserver.

Anybody else with the same problem?

Question: Should IPv6 be supported?

- Yes
- No
- I Don't Really Care
- What Is IPv6 Anyway?

IPv6 is not going to happen in firmware. You will never run out of IPv4
addresses on your LAN. Try 10.x.x.x.

I actually have a /27 subnet with public IPs. I _do_ run out of IPv4
addresses. Besides that, IPv6 will become mainstream, whether you like
it or not. Why not add support for it now?
