[slim] Screensaver When Off
Hello, I've seen similar posts in the threads with no resolution? I have my SB3 set (normally) to show the clock when off. The last couple days it hasn't done so. I finally went into the settings to turn it back on and now when I look the ONLY option for screensaver when off is NONE. Can anyone give me an idea of what's up? I'm running server version 7.4.1 on Vista Ultimate (not that the Vista part matters because I've been running the clock fine for years). [slim] Where did all of my podcasts go?
They used to be stored (I think) in extras-podcasts right? Now after the upgrade I can't find them anywhere? If I have to re-add them all where do I put them? Figured it out. I needed to add the menu item for podcasts. I figured out the problem, I'm hoping someone can help me with the solution. When I ask it to scan my music, it's scanning the wrong folder- a different folder than I have selected it to scan for all my music. I'm telling it to scan music on my F: drive which is a second harddrive I have installed in my computer that stores music and pictures. It's always scanned this drive fine before. Now, after installing 7.2 it's scanning my C: drive/users/myname/music folder even though I'm telling it to scan my F: drive like before. Can anyone help out on what to do about this? [slim] 7.2 is not scanning all my music
Hello, Installed 7.2 this evening even though my previous version worked just fine (probably a mistake). Instead of seeing 210 albums it only sees 9 despite having the correct folders for my music and playlists. I copied my scan message, can someone perhaps diagnose what my problem is? [slim] Cannot Rescan library
I just upgraded to the newest version/firmware and now my library will not rescan files. It only found 9 out of several hundred albums etc. Any ideas what is wrong? I'm running Vista Ultimate. After the SB3 says it has connected to my wireless network it moves to the stage of automatically finding my ip address. At this point it cannot connect. It then asks me to self assign an ip address (it has one on the SB3 that I do not recognize) and it gives me the screen to manually submit an ip address for my slimserver. At this point no matter what IP Address I put into it, the SB3 tries to connect for 15 seconds and then goes dark. I've tried everything I can think of. Does anyone have any ideas of things I can try? The only firewall I have is the windows one, and the proper ports are open. Thanks for the comments Mark. As for my router I do think this is the issue, but I'm not familiar enough with networking to figure it out. Im in mixed mode, with a 64 bit WEP enabled, which wasn't a problem a week ago before this happened. Under access restrictions nothing is blocked. I tried to PING the SB3 (using the ip address that it has assigned itself 169.254.169.84) and got the following result: PING 169.254.169.84 ( 169.254.169.84 ) : 56 data bytes Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. --- 169.254.169.84 ping statistics --- packets transmitted = 5 , packets received = 0 packet loss = 100% So it seems obvious there is no connection whatsoever and something is blocking it. In addition, when looking at my slimserver software, it recognizes two players. One is my bedroom player (an SB1 that seems to have no issues) and the second is a player I've never heard of (not my living room SB3 player I don't think). It's labeled: PLAYER INFORMATION The IP address for this player is: 127.0.0.1:1103 I have no idea what this is? A bug of some sort? My living room player gone bad? [slim] Can No Longer Find IP Address
Have been trying to sign on for a week. The SB3 keeps having me set up wireless networking- after connecting to my wireless network the SB3 moves onto the step of self-assigning an IP address. It cannot connect at this point. It asks if I want to assign one myself and when I try and assign the IP Address of the slimserver this doesn't work. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong here? Obviously I am since I can no longer connect. I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS router. Well I spent a couple of hours last night trying to figure this one out. I updated the firmware on my SB3 as well as my SB1. Still my SB3 could not connect. Finally in desperation I unplugged the SB3, plugged it back in and it immediately told me to update the firmware (which I had already done). It updated it again (or at least updated the same firmware a second time) and voila! it worked like a charm. No more stuttering, no more connection issues. I can't account for the cause but the simple and desperate act of just unplugging the SB3 did the trick. Good luck to the rest of you with the same issue. [slim] Can No Longer Connect
I'm running a SB3 and have been going great since last Xmas. Tonight it started to skip and generally not play at all. I updated the firmware on the Sqeezebox and now the player will not connect at all. I'm only running the windows firewall and I have the exception for port 3483. My internet is running fine overall so it shouldn't be the router. I have absolutely no idea. It's like the SB3's wireless functionality has gone up in smoke. Any ideas of what this could be? I'd appreciate your help. I tried just about everything I could think of last night (uninstalling SS, clearing the folder to search for music, rebooting etc) and nothing so far has worked. Nope not using ITunes. This is totally out of left field as this just happened last night. Before then, everything was working as it should. Again, it's not doubling the albums per se, what it's doing is listing the same album multiple times, but with only a few (1, 2, 3 etc) songs in each album. So for Dark Side of The Moon for instance, it may list the same album 3 times, but one of them will have Money in it, one will have Time etc. All of the songs will be listed in the various album listings. I downloaded a trial version of Tag and Rename and checked the tags, and all are correct. I ripped all of the files into FLAC using DB Power Amp and all CD's were ripped at the same time and have worked properly... until last night. I also did a virus scan on my external drive that holds all my music and nothing came up. One more thing, I'm also running a SB1 in my bedroom (the one in the living room is a SB3) and the SB1 has the same issue. I have no clue what the problem is but I figured it was a Slim Server issue since it all went haywire after a Clear and Rescan function. Unfortunately clearing the server cache did not help (I tried it twice just to be sure). So perhaps downloading 6.5 is the way to go? In addition, just to make triple sure it wasn't the tags I opened up yahoo music and Quintessential player and both are showing everything correctly, just one album with all songs in there. Making me believe this is somehow (no idea) a SS issue. I appreciate all your suggestions so far, if anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them. My slimserver software went nuts tonight and I have no clue why. I was missing a song from one of the albums (it vanished from the slimserver software not my hard drive) so I did a clear everything and rescan function and when it was finished all hell broke loose. Now I have multiple listings for many albums, some albums have actually changed names- for example I now have 5 versions of A Rush of Blood to the Head, as well as A Rush of Blood to the Head (Volume 1). Previous to this I would have only had one name for the album, the album itself and not labeled Volume 1. I have cleared and re-scanned several times and the problem still persists. This is all completely new and nothing has happened like this before. Any ideas? I'm running version 6.2.1 and all my music is encoded in FLAC. The system and software have all run perfectly until now. I just did moments ago. I had tried doing another clear and rescan and this time it duplicated the problem, so instead of having 4 of the same album, I went up to 8 of the same album. After installing the software and scanning my library I still have duplicates of albums. What is happening is that I will have multiples of the same album with the songs broken up over that number of albums. So if I have 4 of the same album listed I will have all songs for that album broken up over the 4 listings. I have not made any changes to the tags, I've checked the tags and they are correct yet this still happened. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if anyone has any ideas?
