CommunitySqueeze Flirc Configuration.zip

Many thanks.

Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?

2013-03-19 Thread albertone74

John,
My dual wandboard is on its way (I am supposed to get it tomorrow) and
as I have already said in one of my previous posts I really look forward
to getting one your boards as soon as they are available. Just a few
thought. I have bought a MI0283QT-9A display with touch panel (2.8,
240x320 pixel) which I got from here:

http://www.watterott.com/en/MI0283QT-2-Adapter

and I have managed to get it work with my Raspberry PI by following the
instructions found here

http://lallafa.de/blog/2013/03/watterott-mi0283qt-9a-display-for-the-rasbperry-pi/

Based on the fact that this MI0283QT-9A Adapter works with every board
with 9Bit SPI/SSI interface (3.3V or 5V), would you envisage it could
work with the wand board as well by optimising the respective
software/driver? I believe that would be great for future
implementations i.e. Jivelite (from Triode)

Thanks again to you and all the others for all the good and hard work on
this matter.

JUST for a couple developers to get some software up and running. The

development, it is not ready for manufacture yet. Gen1 is a beta
version, I am planning on there being 25 made and distributed to people
that are willing to help test, help develop software etc. At this phase
it is probably still going to be a DIY project, no soldering required,
but you need to get the different pieces and assemble them together and
know how to write an SD card from an image on the internet.

The Gen1 phase is when software is going to be changing frequently as
different people come up with ideas that get implemented, different UIs
get tested etc. It will be a usable device with very good sound, but
still a DIY project and a little rough around the edges.

At some point as Gen1 seems to be stabalizing we put together everything
we have learned and come up with a production version, it may be
exactly the same hardware as Gen1, or it may be different we don't know
at this point. This is the point at which things like a nice looking
case etc. get designed. At this point it is ready for general use and
can be bought by anybody. Exactly how this is going to be done has not
yet been determined. It might be a fully finished boxed up product or it
might be a kit (board and box, you put the board in the box and tighten
 the screws)

John,
Many thanks for getting back to me and for your clarifications. It
sounds a great news and I am very excited about it. I will definitely
buy one production version as soon as it is available.
As far as this DYI project is concerned, would you envisage I should
proceed and buy the wandboard (solo or dual?) at this stage, or shall I
wait for a a fully finished boxed up product which will include the wand
board as well?
Thanks in advance.

Someone into opera or from Italy will have to confirm which are

 - BelCanto - An Italian phrase literally meaning beautiful singing.
 - Crescendo - A gradual increase in volume. (Maybe a bit hard to spell

 - EnCore - Literally means again. It used to be the custom for a
singer to repeat a popular aria if the audience called encore loudly
 enough.
 - Maestro - Literally master;
 - Overture - An orchestral introduction to an opera.

Maybe using these alone or combining these with some other words would
make a cool name for it ?
 - MusicMaesto
 - SqueezeMaestro
 - SqueezeEnCore
 - BelCantoBox
 - BelCantoStreamer
 - OpenEnCore
 - OvertureStreamer
 - CrescendoStreamer
 - StreamEnCore

Hi,

I like the idea of this thread and as I am Italian I have been thinking
about the following names:

OperaBox
OperettaBox
ConcertinoBox
RossiniBox

On top of that I really love the Italian Opera as it reminds me when I
was a little kid I was used to going to watch Opera with my
grandfather...especially because he was buying for me a lot of sweets:)

If you have a good folder structure, then I suggest using mp3tag to tag
all your music files. This program is able to create tags based on
file/folder patterns and you can upgrade your files in bulk mode.
Then you will be able to use the albums views which has other advantages
(like being cached and much faster) as well.

Hope this workaround does help you a bit.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
Sorry I did not fully understand. So If I tag my albums, will I be able
to find them quickly in albums view? Can I also use this programe with my

yes, and mp3tag works well with FLAC files too. Use the filenames to
tag in the CONVERT menu. You can use directory and subdirectory
information as well as filename to automate things. So if you have
 things organized like:

 c:\music\artist\album\tracks...

you can use mp3tag to automatically fill in artist name, album name,
track name and number, etc. It may take a bit of time to learn how to
do this, but once figured out, it is very easy.

and yes, LMS will work MUCH MUCH better if you have good tags instead of
 using browse music folder.

Cool! Many thanks for letting me know. I will give it a go then!
I have seen in your signature that you have got iPeng as well. Will this
tag procedure work with iPeng as well?

Hi there,
I just purchased the Squeemote application for my Ipod Touch and I must
admit that I am very happy with it. It works great! I do love it! Having
said that I hope someone can help me out with the following questions:

-Does anyone know if it is possible to connect to SqueezeNetwork with
Squeemote? I only managed to connect to Squuezecenter through my
laptop.

-I have noticed that after selecting a track in the Squeemote menu, I
am used to getting a window with 3 options (‘Add to Playlist’ , ‘Replace
Playlist’ and ‘Cancel’). Is there any way to play a track straight away
without getting that window all the times?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
