Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
TuneIn is independent of MySB for the most part. TuneIn actually receives a fee per player sold, I am not sure if they receive an ongoing payment beyond this. So in effect you have already paid for TuneIn. I am not sure if it could be left enabled in LMS, but their feed is a simple public OPML feed... andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
Hi everyone. Unsurprisingly, the other shoe began to drop today with Logitech laying off a handful of folks within the team, including myself. I haven't read through very much of this thread but I wanted to say that I am very pleased to see this effort in finding a way forward in the post-Logitech world, and I had no doubt this great community would already be on top of things here. :) A couple of changes I was thinking of implementing involve removing MySqueezebox.com support from the ip3k firmware, SqueezePlay, and LMS. I do not know what Logitech plans to do with MySB but it is just a matter of time before either they stop funding it, or it breaks with no one to fix it. Sadly most music services will have to be removed, but Triode's Spotify plugin shows it might be possible for the community to reimplement some of them, if they have public documentation. As for Smart Radio, personally I'd like to see those devices allowed to become SB Radios if Logitech decides to stop supporting the uesmartradio.com backend. Unfortunately Logitech controls distribution of the SR firmware so this will require cooperation from them. I would recommend not investing any time into supporting Smart Radio. andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Good Squeezebox alternative?
There is nothing preventing gapless from working on DLNA renderers, it's just a matter of proper playback design, but most of these are very dumb devices and not likely to care about gapless. Sync is not something that is supported by DLNA at all. I suppose someone could design a protocol extension but you'd have to use products by only that vendor, etc. -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91090 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
Generally SqueezePad looks OK on iPad 3, except for some reason the fonts are not scaled which I thought iOS did automatically. I've noticed a problem with our own app that will probably affect everyone, and that is that the ultra-high-res cover art really abuses the server and can cause large amounts of memory to be used upscaling artwork to sizes around 1500px or higher. We will need to make some changes to avoid any upscaling and have this scaling done client-side. -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80553 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I tried to follow the DLNA spec, which says the server provides 1 or more available formats and the player can choose which one to play, however it wants to select it. The first number is how much data is in the decoder buffer, waiting to be decoded into PCM. The second number is how much has been decoded and is waiting to be sent out the DAC. Hey all I can say is it's a beta, sometimes it doesn't work. But 7.5.3 is essentially done and will be released in a few weeks most likely. And given that it's been 6+ months since 7.5.1 (7.5.2 doesn't count) and lots of people have been using this code without any problems, I can't think what else it might be other than: * bad build somehow * user error -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84486 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Rhapsody no longer compatible with my Touch???
The problem was caused by Rhapsody changing the DNS address of their API server. There is some code to handle this case for older ip3k-based players, but it's not necessary for SP players. Unfortunately that code got ported from ip3k and was broken. So if by chance you were still on a server (SBS or MySB) that hadn't restarted since the DNS change, you would have still been able to connect to Rhapsody. -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83135 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
