On the High End Side I switched to Linn.

In Stock I got a Classic, a brand new sealed Touch, and a new Receiver,

But anyhow, I'm disapointed, but I expected a situation like this...

ipad 3 comes out). sit this on a stand wherever you'd like, and use
the ipad app iPENGhd or squeezepad. You'll have large album art,
titles, etc. and the ability to control the touch as well.

Hi,

same here, but I think I might use an older SB 3 placed on a shelf near
my listening place. Then I would just sync the players and everything
should be fine.

(I'm more interested to see the titles than the cover art - my player

[slim] Where to buy a Squeezebox Radio/Boom in the US

2009-11-23 Thread carrera

Hi,

the end of this month I'm gonna be at Palo Alto (CA) which is located
next to Mountain View (Home of the SBs).

I'm thinking about buying a Radio or a Boom. Last year it was pretty
easy for me, Slim had a BBQ, and I could get my Transporter perfectly
priced. It was also possible to order here, and to get the stuff
delivered to my hotel.

But those were the good old days, and my question is, where to get
the SBs now?
I read about a sale at Best Buy, but i think there won't be any
available. Circuit City doesn't exist anymore, and I'm not sure to find
SBs at Frys.

So thank you in advance for your ideas

Hi,

15min for boot is too long.
Did you ever try a NetReset (thats how we call this in GY). The last PC
I had did also use this 15min, and after the NetReset it works normal!

So to do the NetReset:
1. Shut down Your System
2. If availible, switch off the switch behind the PC where
the Power Supply is
3. Disconnect the Power Cable
4. With the Powercable beeing disconnected press the
Powerswitch on the front panel. and hold it down for 20
seconds.

After that, connect your Powercable again and with a little luck, your
PC will start as usual.

When I try to adjust the volume, I press the volume-button on the

only jitters, but does not change. For example: It shows -33,00 and
when I turn the knob, it changes to -33,5, then back to -33,00,
sometimes to -32,50 and back. So it just changes minimal amounts
plus/minus around the same value, but in the end, it does not change at
 all.

When I try to search or browse using the know, nothing at all happens.
In fact it seems as there is no function at all that is reacting in any

Hi Wolfgang,

just read your thread, I have also a Transporter (pretty new) and I'm
not too experienced.

But I'm not using SC 7.2, I use a prior version. So I read your thread,
ran upstairs, started my Transporter - I never used the Nob before -
tried to adjust the volume, and nothing happend, so I tried to change
anything with the knob - and nothing happend.

So I did a reset, and now I can use the knob- and the volume wotks
fine.

So what I would do: if a reset doesn't work, try an earlier version of
SC.

before, it did not help with the knob...

Going back to an older version is not an option. The digital loop
function of the transporter in the newer releases was one of the main
reasons for buying it and iPeng on my iTouch as a secondary controller
 also needs a newer release.

Now I installed 7.2.1 from the nightlies and firmware 63 (with another
xylinx programming right after it) just to test if anything would
 change. But no success yet.

Hi Wolfgang,

At first when I did some testing with my new Transporter, I had no
audio at all.

After reprogramming the xylinx audio worked fine (I tried digital out,
and xlr).

What I did ten minutes ago to activate the knob was the factory reset
(unplug, then plugin + add) which worked fine. So as I do not believe
your Transporter is broken, I think it might be the SC version

I remember having read somewhere about some probs with the Transporter
and 7.2, but I'm not sure.

Re: [slim] Running SqueezeCenter on a mini-laptop?

2008-09-04 Thread carrera

Hi,

i'm not using a mini laptop, but an old one. (Compaq EVO N610C, 1,8GHZ)
which should be in the range the new minis are.

I'm using this computer only for SC, and everything works fine; WOL is
also working.

The only problem I had was the USB HDD. First I tried a 500MB 3,5
external. (My library is about 260GB) With that one I had the prob that
the HDD sometimes went to a sleep mode, which originaly is good, but it
didn't wake up when wanted to hear my music.

What i'm using now is an 2,5 320GB Samsung HDD in an external
enclosure, but not seperately powered, so this disk shuts off, when the
laptop is shutting down automatically at night, and wakes up together
with the WOL, when i power on any of my SB3.

Ofcourse i made another partition of this disc for my network storage.

So i would say, go for it, but don't forget to try if your plaaned HDD
workes perfect together with the USB. ( you could use a powerd usb hub
for any 2,5 HDD, but in this case, your HDD will not shut down
together with your laptop)

kind regards

Yes! My SB3 power connector is flaky, too. I need to set it just right
for it to work OK without re-booting etc. But since I rarely touch it I
haven't really found it a problem. But it's interesting to know the
fault is not just with mine . . .

This aside I love my squeezeboxes - apart from the sound quality (which
is top notch IMO) they've altered the way I listen to music - for the
 better!

Hi,
I'm from Germany, and bought my first SB3 december last year,in the US
and I had absolutely the same prob with the power connector.

I recognized the fault too late, so i was already back in GY.

After a contact with Logitech website, i got a new power supply, which
fits well.

So go to your dealer, or Slim Devices, they will fix the prob.
