[slim] SB3 dropping off network
My SB3 (Classic) used to run fine on the wireless network, then it started stopping whilst it buffered so I ran a cable back to a 100Mb switch and everything seemed fine again. Now, it loses contact with the server i.e. the clock goes off when in standby. If I try and connect again by powering it up it fails. If I remove the ethernet cable and plug it back in, everything springs to life until it loses contact again. I use two Netgear WG602s to cover upstairs and downstairs and they work fine with the Duet and SB3. I also have no issues with WHS, all my flac files live on the Music share and they were all copied there from my old QNAP NAS device via a Vista PC with no problems. That's 250Gb in one go. The nightlys refered to here are betas of the next version. You can install them on your HP server. Just download the Windows executable from the link given. [slim] Music stops but controller still thinks it's playing
At least once every listening session, the current track just stops playing but the controller still indicates it is and continues to count the time down. If I skip to the next track or restart that one it works. Is the display on the controller controlled by the stream, if so, why is there no audio output? Is it worth forcing it to stream as WAV? I'm also getting 'static' at random points which don't seem to be going away with later versions of SC7. The console is just the 'noddy' interface to the server. WHS is just a copy of Windows Server 2003 with some bits taken out and some other stuff added. If you want full control over it use MSTSC and remote desktop. [slim] FLAC issues on WHS and SC 7.0
I've moved from running V6.x on a QNAP TS-101 to V7.0 on a Windows Home Server. I've now got some FLACS that just repeatably stop half way through and others that give pops and clicks. I've tried converting them to MP3 and WAV using DBpoweramp reference and they play ok and the flac checksum is valid so I think the file transfer from the QNAP to the WHS was valid. My settings are all default i.e FLACs are streamed as FLACS. I can only conclude it's either the new firmware on the SB3 or SC7.0 running on WHS Any suggestions on what I can do to try and resolve it? But the checksum is fine and they convert to other formats ok. The WHS bug only effects multiple drives in the storage pool. I've only got one so I'm ok. I've just installed the latest nightly of SC 7.0.1 and the track that wouldn't play now does! Or you could get a non wireless Draytek and add any wireless access point you wish to it. Can you temporarily disable any built-in router firewall/ping blocking to see if that makes any difference. I've got a 300Gb TS-101 running SlimServer. It's got around 130Gb of data (music) on it and I setup the Q-Raid 1 function with an external USB disk. 24 hours later it's only synced 58%. Is this right?
