thanks phil. i have a folder that has 2 shortcuts one that directs
squeeze center to look in a secondary internal drive (a drive that is
in the computer that is running squeezecenter, ie my main computer) and
another shortcut that directs it to a music folder on a network storage
device that has 2 1TB drives. i'm not sure precisely what your
proposition/questioin means "you have NO tags". my auto-rescan library
was set to "off" but it is now set to "on"... but that point is moot at
this moment because for the last 6h my computer has been rescanning the
library anyway (a fresh scan) and the "music folder" link still doesn't
show up on my controller now that i have just rechecked it... BTW i have
tried a factory reset of the controller and that didn't help
anything else you can think of?  and thanks again for taking the time.

today i awoke to find that my "music folder" link has disappeared from
my controller. this is most unfortunate because that is the ONLY way i
can navigate my music library please help!
