Yes, these are squeezebox receivers. Interestingly, when I shut down my computer, the lights remain white. When I unplug my receivers and re-plug them back in, they go from red back to white. I even tried unplugging my router altogether eliminating any wireless signal, and they STILL went to white. I've never installed any Beta software on my machine. Originally I used my Duet controller to set it up. I called support and figured it out. Apparently my controller was connected to another account for some reason so it wasn't finding the players. They reset it on the server, then we reset connecting to the receivers, and everything is working now. [slim] Everything stopped working
Sometime last night, all of the sudden, all music ceased playing and my players are no longer discoverable by SqueezeCenter. When I go to the players section in the web settings, it says it can't find any. I've tried rebooting my computer, unplugging/replugging my squeezeboxes themselves, refreshing, and nothing. Both my iPeng and SqueezeBox remote say that they can't connect to any server. I was playing around with iPeng at the time that this happened, though I cannot possibly imagine how I would have caused this. last lines in the server log (taken after reboots) look like the following. Yes, I've tried that. I have absolutely no idea what to do. Doesn't quite usually mean connected and blue mean not connected? At any rate, when I login to mysqueezebox.com I do see the players listed. I've also attempted to uninstall SqueezeCenter including all preferences and re-install to no avail. Update (yet still no solution): Still unable to see playlists, but I was able to browse to a playlist by creating one inside of my music directory, and then browsing to it using the Music Folder option inside of My Music. However when I try to execute the playlist, it says there are no songs in the playlist. Thanks a lot for the reply. Actually believe it or not I tried giving absolute paths instead of relative paths and saving the file :). Still didn't work. But at least now I know that SqueezeBox doesn't support playlists created with other apps. So I guess my question now is: what's the supported way to create playlists? [slim] Playlists not showing up
I have an updated SqueezeBox and am trying to get a simple m3u playlist to show up inside the playlist section of the device. I created an m3u playlist in Winamp, copied it into the playlist folder that is configured in my SqueezeBox, and no playlists are showing up in the playlist list when I try to browse to them after I scan. The logs appear to show that they were improted, but for some reason it's just not finding them. Ideas? [slim] Occasional syncing issue
I've had my SqueezeBox for a while and am usually pleased with it. I have two boxes, and the server is configured to serve two rooms in my apartment, and it's always set to be synchronized so that both rooms play simultaneously. However one thing that drives me insane is that from time to time they get out of sync. What happens is that I'll start playing a song, and it takes a long time to start (maybe 10 seconds?), and then one player will start, and then 2 seconds later the other player will start, so they're not synchronized. I used to reboot my server to work around it, but I recent found that stopping and starting the server also fixes it. My OS is Vista and I'm running the latest SqueezeCenter version, even though this problem has been around since I got the system (though it seems to be getting more frequent). Is this a known issue? Thanks for the responses. My connection is pretty straight forward; both my receivers are wireless, and one is sitting right next to the router. My receiver in my living room is in an adjacent room to the router so it's hard to think that it would be having issues communicating, though I suppose it's possible. [slim] Scan Terminated Unexpectedly - MySQL Error
When trying to clear/rescan my system, I get the error below in the scan logs after it successfully gets through some albums. I did just upgrade to 7.4, but it's unclear if that's when this problem started, because I did get an error when trying to scan/add albums with my previous version, but noticed 7.4 was out so decided it was time to upgrade. My setup is really simple--all albums are in one folder, I'm not using iTunes and don't have a playlists folder. Ideas? I meant to say also: - I used to have the older version of SoftSqueeze, but I upgraded to the latest (SoftSqueeze 3.7), and it made no difference. - songs tend to get further out of sync after each song in the playlist. Anyone have any ideas? [slim] Softsqueeze Sync Issues
I recently upgraded to the latest SqueezeCenter, and have been using the same SoftSqueeze version as has been available for a long time. Now when I start to play an album or playlist, everything syncs fine between my two rooms. However after the first song, there is a slight difference in where the songs are (maybe a half second to a second?). There is also a slight delta if my Squeezebox is playing a song and I then start SoftSqueeze on my computer. In the past, the slight difference that occurred when first starting SoftSqueeze could be corrected by restarting the song. Anyone else seeing this, or know what to do about the problem? Thanks for the tip. However I'm getting very strange behavior when trying to synchronize. I have my SqueezeBox selected as the player, and the SoftSqueeze checked when I go to the Synchronize menu item. Generally though when I hit play, it plays on SoftSqueeze immediately but then has about an 10-15 second delay before it starts playing on my SqueezeBox. They're very out of sync. I would like them to be playing exactly the same piece of the same song at the same time. However if I hit pause on my remote, they both stop/start from their respective spots in the same at the same time. Any idea what's up? [slim] playing at two sources at once
Does anyone know if there's a way using my SqueezeBox duet to play the song I want to play on my SqueezeBox and also on my computer that's hosting SqueezeCenter (i.e. on the computer speakers)? My computer is in my bedroom and my SqueezeBox is in my living room, and I'd like to have synchronized sound in both at once. Hi Siduhe, Thanks for the reply. I verified that my iTunes XML file location is right and that the relevant entries are indeed removed/changed in the XML file. Here's what's odd. I have iTunes and SqueezeCenter on the same box. When I originally set up SqueezeCenter, I set the iTunes XML file (and JUST that setting), but when SqueezeCenter attempted to scan my library, it didn't import any music. I had to put in that secondary value that you alluded to which is iTunes Music Folder for it to work. However instead of having my music in a typical iTunes location, I have it all in C:\MP3 and I manually added the folder to my iTunes index. In my iTunes XML file, for location I see URI-like entries such as the following: file://localhost/C:/MP3/classical/Mozart/SongName.mp3, so I'm not sure why SqueezeCenter would be having a hard time with that. I tried to parse the scanner logs, but it didn't seem to reveal much (at least, not for me since I don't know the code base and there appeared to be some exceptions thrown with associated call stacks). Anyways, I'm trying a manual re-scan right now by clearing everything. Hopefully this takes care of it, but I'm not convinced it won't continue to happen once I get it re-setup and start to use the diffing algorithm again since it's cheaper to execute than the clear-and-rescan one (and thus can execute it more frequently). I'll give an update when I've figured out more. I have my SqueezeCenter hooked up to itunes, and it refreshes every so often. However when I remove an album from my itunes index (i.e. go into itunes and hit Delete on a song to remove it from the index, but do NOT delete the file on disk), the change does not appear in my SqueezeCenter index after it updates. Likewise if I update an ID3 tag within itunes, it doesn't seem to update the SqueezeCenter index. If I delete a from disk however, the change is reflected in SqueezeCenter. Also if I add an album, it always shows up post-update. I've verified that the itunes XML file no longer has the album as well (in the case of a delete) or that it records the ID3 change (in the case of an artist/album rename). I've closed and opened itunes and forced SqueezeCenter to update the set multiple times (which is confirmed by the Rescanning music library... on the lower left) but this doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas? And can someone explain how SqueezeCenter detects differences between scans?
