Re: [slim] Boom versus SB3 cheap acive speakers

2009-01-26 Thread fredbloggs

to be honest, if you're happy with the suond quailty from a couple of 30
quid speakers then i'd imagine stereo seperation wouldn't be too high on
the list of concerns.

I prefer the boom, don't have to go hunting for the remote all the time
and can just do stuff on the box.

[slim] Wallwart adapter (calling any Aussies/NZers in UK)

2008-10-02 Thread fredbloggs

Hi,

I purchased my Squeezeboxes (v3) in the UK and have used them quite
extnsivley thank you very much.

I have however now moved to NZ and have to subject myself to using a UK
NZ plug adapter which is really quite annoying (not sure if I have the
ears to tell the differnce in sound quality).

have contacted Logieech support APAC and they don't stock the Oz/NZ
power adapters as spares, so i'm wondering whether anyone on here is
suffering the same issue in reverse and wants to somehow swap.

Thi has also made me wonder what happens if my power supply dies, do I
have to order a completely new Squeezebox?

Thanks

them, then i can get a free one as well. / shameless plug/

Re: [slim] 20% of all Logitech products (may be UK only)

2007-09-21 Thread fredbloggs

Thought I'd try this code, and also played the JellyBattle game again to
see if the code had been changed.

Alas, no. It would appear that the 20% discount code now states that

Transporter™ Network Music Player and Squeezebox™ products are excluded
 from this promotion.
The validity of the voucher code expires on 31 March 2008.

In case anyone is interested for other Logitech components, the code
jellybattle2A is valid for other products ordered at www.logitech.com
and may only be delivered to customers with an address in: Belgium,
Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway,
Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom

Re: [slim] New iPod Touch possible candidate for SS controller?

2007-09-07 Thread fredbloggs

Has the ability to synchronize its storage with SlimServer (without
 iTunes).

I thought you were looking into utilising GnuPod for synchronising the
Slimserver music with Ipod based devices. Perhaps this will work for
the iTouch as well.

Re: [slim] Invalid Directory and other weirdness

2007-07-13 Thread fredbloggs

Is this anything to do with the fact that you have security setup on the
NAS box. Slimserver runs as a local system service and will therefore
get access denied when trying to view files on the NAS.

Have you tried configuring this to run with your account password?

Not sure about ITunes interaction.

Re: [slim] New (Logitech) Squeezebox

2007-06-07 Thread fredbloggs

Whilst I would rather have had one with the Slim Devices logo, I do hope
that the quality hasn't gone downhill. One thing on Logitech's side is
that you now get a two year warranty, I believe it used to be one.

Still enjoying it though

Re: [slim] Delays from Amazon UK

I can't believe people are talking about the latest must have christmas
present already.

Although I am celebrating an Australasian xmas in three weeks here in
the UK. Perhaps I should ask the misses for another one, the first was
delivered this morning

ripcaster.co.uk have just shipped mine, after waiting several months and
watching the dates constantly slip all over the place I'm now looking
forward to playing with this from Monday.

Perhaps you can cancel it from Amazon, i'm cancelling mine.
