Re: [slim] Duet Controller drops packets
rtitmuss;283365 Wrote: Could you look in 'Settings Advanced Wireless Network your network name'. What information is displayed, in particular what is the SNR (Signal-to-noise ratio) shown? How does this vary as you move around your house? Thanks, Richard I don't mean to hijack this thread, but my post seems relevant to the conversation. I'm interested in the SNR for the controller. What is the range of possible values? Is it 1 to 100? And, more importantly, what is considered the lowest optimal SNR value? I would assume, that as long as the receiver is not experiencing hiccups, then the SNR does not especially matter. But still- I'm interested in how my wireless setup rates in terms of SNR. -- improvisato improvisato's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45168 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I believe the SB only sends Wake on LAN magic packet when you press the power button. Try that. (I'm not sure if its sends one when you switch from Squeeze Netork to Squeeze Center.) You should see the message Waking Up Squeeze Center.) Sunset, is your fix for the SB? [slim] SBC wake up computer
Here's my setup: SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17793 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 Server IP address: 192.168.1.100 Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt Platform Architecture: 586 Here's what I want to happen: When I set my computer to S3 sleep mode, I want it to go standby. If I'm listening via SqueezeNetwork, I want my SBR to continue playing like normal and have the computer stay asleep. If I use the SBC to browse for an artist in SqueezeCenter, I want the SBC to wake up the computer. My network properties show three enable/disable controller settings: - Wake on magic packet - Wake on pattern - WakeOnLAN from PowerOff In messing around with various settings on enable/disable, I get two outcomes: - The computer goes to sleep but then immediately starts back up again (this is obvisouly not what I want) - The computer goes to sleep (this is partially what I want, except) I can't get the SBC to wake up the computer when I try to switch from SqueezeNetwork back to SqueezeCenter. Any ideas? -- improvisato improvisato's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44798 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Power outages and Squeezebox
I've been considering purchasing a small UPS for my Duet as well. I'm subject to fairly frequent power flicker like MeSue. I've used APC products in the past for computer hardware and found them to be very reliable. Are there audio component-specific UPSs out there? I'd be interested in other forum-goers' experiences. -- improvisato improvisato's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43920 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
