Re: [slim] Dear Squeezebox, still love you
I started out with a Touch, then added a Radio, and then yet another Radio. I love these gadgets and use them everyday. (Helped me ditch XM/Sirius which has gone straight to the sewer since the merger.) And btw...all my SB products have been bug free and totally stable. Sincere thanks to SB folks at Logitech. -- jazzcat jazzcat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51962 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93924 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Just 5 years and a bit less than 2 month Logitech has acquired Slim Devices
As a newcomer to the SB, I knew nothing about the era of Slim Devices before Logitech. I will say this however I'm not "overwhelmed and frustrated by the relative complexity of the device", nor do I find it "a little fussy". I think it works very intuitively. The ol' jazzcat had no trouble with set-up or operation. I never had to call Logitech for help. (I do think they should provide the "Features Manual" in print or disc with the unit. The "quick start" guide is too basic.) "As the devices got less "Slim" it seems reliability went down"while my Touch and Radio are brand new and just starting their working lives, I don't expect them to be unreliable (and certainly not like the Aluratek IR I had that was a short-lived, piece of garbage.) My Touch and Radio worked right out of the box, first time, no "bugs", no hassles. I'm proud to show these products to my friends. They are as well-built as any thing in the marketplace. "It's a tough product to sell to the mass-market". Maybe true, especially when the "mass-market" has a large proportion of dumbed-down consumers. If Logitech wants to continue selling SB's, they need to do a lot more marketing. At the store where I bought mine, the boxes were buried on a dusty lower shelf. The salesperson I asked for help wasn't even sure where they were located in the store. So, as a person who just discovered these Logitech products, I can offer nothing but praise and thanks to the company that made them. I hope Logitech continues to market and support the SB product line. jazzcat -- jazzcat jazzcat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51962 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92232 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Thank you Slim Devices.
First of all, I'm glad to have found this Community. Have been reading for hours and days, before I bought my SB products, and now that I have them I still keep reading and learning. (You'll note I wrote "SB product*s*"). You see, just a few days ago I bought a new Touch. Connected to my vacuum tubed power amps, DIY dac and Vandersteen 2C speakers, it blew me away. What's more, it was on sale for $50 off!! Then just a day later, I saw the same store had the SBRadio on sale also for $50 off. Took it home (for the bedroom). Sync'd them up and now the "cat" is grooving to 500+ jazz stations, not to mention his personal library, yeah man!! I always have to have good, swingin' music flowing through the house. Used to have XM satellite. It was OK until the merger with Sirius, after which it went down the tubes for my tastes. Cancelled the subs and dumped all my Sat-Rad gear. So to end this unabashed fan letter, I'm so happy to have discovered Logitech SB. I love it. It's changed my musical life! I'm sure the people from Logitech look in here sometimes. To them I say: Please accept my most enthusiastic "Thank You" !! jazzcat -- jazzcat jazzcat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51962 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91687 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
