[slim] Player stops after a few songs are played...

2009-09-02 Thread kbindera

I am running 7.3.3 of slimserver on a win2k3 server box. I have been
successfully running slimserver for over three years on this box. I
have upgraded over the years, as new versions have become available.
Everything has worked well. With version 7.3.3 and a version or two
before it, I have noticed that I can no longer get an album to play all
the way through, without the player stopping. Typically, it will play
two or three songs and then the device will display the next song to be
played but will say Stopped
I have tried a fresh install of the software, and I have also tried
hardwiring the device directly into my network. So I know this is not
some issue with wireless connectivity.
Anyway, this is really annoying problem and I see no way around it. It
has made the device pretty useless.

What's up? What changed? Is there some magic config setting I am
missing?

[slim] Player stops playing

2009-07-18 Thread kbindera

I have noticed this problem since installing 7.3.3. I will queue up a
playlist of say ten songs or so and after it gets through two or three
songs the player just stops.
To see if it was a network problem, I hardwired the device into my
network. No change. Anyone seen this?
BTW, I am using a squeezebox classic.

[slim] Flagging favorites via web interface

2007-06-07 Thread kbindera

Is anyone aware of a plugin that will allow you to add a song to the
Favortes playlist via the web interface?
Or, is there any way to redirect the Save to Favorites feature within
the device to save to a custom playlist?

Re: [slim] Does slimserver need to be some complicated?

I would love to recommend the slimbox/server to my friends who are
looking for a digital music solution but unfortunately I can only
recommend this spectacular product to my friends that are either
computer professionals or friends that are very computer savvy.

Man, you read my mind! When people come over and see the Slimserver on
top of my entertainment system they are so intrigued and they all want
one. I discourage them as I know I will need to support them as they
fumble about.

Anyway, the core issue raised of too many options is a good problem to
have. It means you have a lot of users giving you good feeback and
that you are listenting and implementing needed features. However,
when the feature bloat gets too big, you need to step back and
streamline. Especially, if you want to tackle the market of
non-techies who just want to plug stuff in and have it just work
without messing about with a bunch of config settings.

[slim] The New Music Playlist

2007-05-19 Thread kbindera

I use the New Music playlist feature quite a bit as I am constantly
adding new music to my collection and wanting to see a quick history of
what I added.
I would like to be able to remove stuff from this list or potentially
exclude certain folders from being scanned by whatever mechanism is
dynamically generating this list.
If anyone has any insight into how this feature works behind the
scenes, I would be most appreciative.

Regards,

kbindera
